Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan alat evaluasi berbentuk gambar konsep dengan kualitas yang baik dan teruji. Dalam beberapa penelitian telah ditunjukkan bahwa media gambar mempunyai beberapa kelebihan, seperti lebih konkrit dan lebih realistis, serta dapat mengatasi keterbatasan ruang dan waktu. Alat evaluasi berupa gambar konsep ini mengadaptasi dan memodifikasi karakteristik alat evaluasi berupa kartun konsep yang telah dibuat oleh Naylor dan Keogh (1999). Alat evaluasi berupa gambar konsep yang dikembangkan terdiri dari 20 soal pilihan ganda yang dikerjakan oleh 40 siswa kelas VII SLTP di Lembang mengenai konsep Ekosistem yang telah dipelajari. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian deskriptif karena peneliti tidak melakukan perlakuan atau merancang sesuatu yang diharapkan terjadi pada responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat evaluasi berupa gambar konsep telah dikembangkan berdasarkan langkah-langkah yang sesuai dengan prosedur pengembangan evaluasi belajar dan pengembangan kartun, serta fitur-fitur yang terdapat pada kartun konsep Naylor dan Keogh. Alat evaluasi berupa gambar konsep yang dikembangkan memiliki reliabilitas tes sedang dan validitas yang rendah, namun masih dianggap memadai. Rata-rata taraf kesukaran berkategori sedang, daya pembeda berkategori cukup, dan pengecoh secara keseluruhan berfungsi cukup efektif. Selain itu, berdasarkan respon siswa dan guru, alat evaluasi berupa gambar konsep ini menarik dan memberikan pengalaman baru meskipun mengalami beberapa kesulitan dalam pengerjaannya. Kata Kunci: Alat Evaluasi, Gambar Konsep, Ekosistem This study was aimed at developing and producing an evaluation tool in the form of good quality and reliable pictures concept. Some studies showed that pictures media have several advantages, such as it is more concrete and realistic, and it can overcome space and time limitations. The pictures concept evaluation tool adapted and modified the characteristics of cartoon concept evaluation tool created by Naylor and Keogh (1999). The pictures concept evaluation tool developed consists of 20 multiple choices about the concept of ecosystems which were done by 40 seventh graders of a Junior High School in Lembang. A descriptive research method was used in this study because the researchers did not do a treatment or design something that was expected to occur. The results showed that the pictures concept evaluation tool has been developed based on the steps according to the procedures of learning evaluation development, cartoon development, and the features found in Naylor and Keogh’s cartoon concept. The reliability and validity of the pictures concept evaluation tool developed was medium, but it was considered as adequate. The average level of difficulty was categorized as medium, the distinguishing average was enough, and overall distractions worked quite effective. Moreover, the responses of students and teachers showed that the pictures concept evaluation tool was interesting and it gave a new experience despite of some difficulties in the process of doing it.
