Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peningkatan civic engagement peserta didik di SMP Negeri 1 Jatinunggal melalui implementasi model pembelajaran berbasis proyek kewarganegaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan jenis studi kasus retrospektif, melibatkan Peserta Didik kelas VIII A sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis menggunakan metode kualitatif yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data, serta analisis kuantitatif deskriptif dengan persentase dan statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran berbasis proyek kewarganegaraan di SMP Negeri 1 Jatinunggal mencakup beberapa tahapan, yakni: (1) Mengidentifikasi kebijakan/program sekolah seperti sekolah sehat, sekolah ramah anak, dan sekolah aman bencana; (2) Memilih masalah yang dikaji peserta didik, seperti pentingnya sarapan pagi, membawa tumbler, reboisasi, dan pendidikan antibullying; (3) Mengumpulkan informasi sesuai permasalahan; (4) Mengembangkan presentasi dan poster; (5) Menyajikan hasil; dan (6) Refleksi pembelajaran. Implementasi ini berhasil meningkatkan civic engagement peserta didik, yang terlihat dari partisipasi aktif, kreativitas, inovasi, keterampilan komunikasi, kemampuan problem-solving, serta pembentukan sikap dan nilai kewarganegaraan. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek ini dilaksanakan sesuai dengan karakteristik utamanya, yaitu driving question, situated inquiry, kolaborasi, dan penggunaan teknologi. Faktor determinan pelaksanaan model ini meliputi guru, peserta didik, lingkungan belajar, sumber belajar, waktu dan tempat, alat dan bahan, media, serta sarana dan prasarana. This study aims to explore the improvement of students' civic engagement at SMP Negeri 1 Jatinunggal through the implementation of a civic project-based learning model. This research uses a mixed methods approach with a case study type, involving students of class VIII A as research subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative methods including data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, as well as descriptive quantitative analysis with percentages and statistics. The results showed that the implementation of the civic project-based learning model at SMP Negeri 1 Jatinunggal included several stages, namely: (1) Identifying school policies/programs such as healthy schools, child-friendly schools, and disaster-safe schools; (2) Choosing problems that students study, such as the importance of breakfast, bringing tumblers, reforestation, and antibullying education; (3) Collecting information according to the problem; (4) Developing presentations and posters; (5) Presenting results; and (6) Reflection on learning. This implementation succeeded in increasing students' civic engagement, which can be seen from active participation, creativity, innovation, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the formation of civic attitudes and values. This project-based learning is implemented in accordance with its main characteristics, namely driving questions, situated inquiry, collaboration, and the use of technology. The determinants of the implementation of this model include teachers, students, learning environment, learning resources, time and place, tools and materials, media, and facilities and infrastructure.
