Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya permasalahan yang ditemukan di lapangan mengenai terbatasnya upaya memfasilitasi keterampilan saintifik serta pembelajaran geometri anak yang belum optimal karena masih terdapat beberapa anak yang kurang memahami dan belum bisa membedakan antara bentuk geometri dengan baik seperti persegi dan persegi panjang. Selain itu, anak juga belum bisa mengimplementasikan bentuk-bentuk geometri ke benda yang ada disekitarnya. Dalam proses pembelajaran di PAUD penyampaian informasi membutuhkan suatu alat untuk menjelaskan suatu materi agar lebih konkret. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, peneliti mengembangkan permainan congklak dalam pembelajaran geometri untuk memfasilitasi keterampilan saintifik anak usia dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dasar kebutuhan, rancangan dan kelayakan rancangan pengembangan produk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan EDR (Educational Design Research). Adapun prosedur penelitian menggunakan model generic McKenney & Reeves yang menggunakan 3 tahapan penelitian yaitu tahap analisis dan eksplorasi (analysis and exploration); tahap desain dan konstruksi (design and construction); tahap evaluasi dan refleksi (evaluation and reflection); serta tahap kematangan intervensi dan pemahaman teoritik (maturing intervention and theoretical understanding). Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian menggunakan observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, angket dan validasi ahli. Validasi ahli dilakukan oleh ahli media pembelajaran, ahli materi dan ahli pedagogik. Setelah melalui revisi berdasarkan saran validator kemudian dilakukan uji coba produk sebanyak dua kali secara terbatas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari data uji coba, produk permainan congklak dalam pembelajaran geometri untuk memfasilitasi keterampilan saintifik anak usia dini telah berhasil dikembangkan dan memenuhi kriteria efektif dan sesuai untuk kemudian digunakan kepada anak usia dini.   This research was motivated by problems found in the field regarding limited efforts to facilitate scientific skills and children's geometry learning which was not yet optimal because there were still some children who did not understand and could not differentiate between geometric shapes properly, such as squares and rectangles. Apart from that, children are also not yet able to apply geometric shapes to objects around them. In the learning process at PAUD, conveying information requires a tool to explain material to make it more concrete. In connection with this, researchers developed the congklak game in geometry learning to facilitate early childhood scientific skills. The purpose of this research is to determine the basic needs, design and feasibility of product development designs. This research uses the EDR (Educational Design Research) development research method. The research procedure uses the generic McKenney & Reeves model which uses 3 research stages, namely the analysis and exploration stage; design and construction stage; evaluation and reflection stage; and maturing intervention and theoretical understanding stage. Data collection techniques in research use observation, interviews, documentation studies, questionnaires and expert validation. Expert validation is carried out by learning media experts, material experts and pedagogical experts. After going through revisions based on the validator's suggestions, the product was then tested twice on a limited basis. Based on the results of the analysis of trial data, the congklak game product in geometry learning to facilitate early childhood scientific skills has been successfully developed and meets the criteria for being effective and suitable for later use with young children.
