Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran fear of missing out (FOMO) dalam memediasi pengaruh problematic social media use (PSMU) terhadap social media burnout (SMB) pada Dewasa Awal Pengguna Tiktok di Jawa Barat. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel non-probability sampling, yaitu accidental sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 505 orang berusia 18-25 tahun yang menggunakan Tiktok di Jawa Barat. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diantaranya, Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale (GPIUS-2)(α = 0.893), Fear of Missing Out Scale (FOMO Scale) (α = 0.844), dan Social Media Burnout Measurement Inventory (α = 0.892). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data regresi linear dan analisis jalur, kemudian untuk menguji peran mediasi digunakan Uji Sobel. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) problematic social media use (PSMU) berpengaruh secara signifikan positif terhadap social media burnout (SMB), (2) problematic social media use (PSMU) berpengaruh secara signifikan positif terhadap fear of missing out (FOMO), (3) fear of missing out (FOMO) berpengaruh secara signifikan positif terhadap social media burnout (SMB), (4) fear of missing out (FOMO) memediasi pengaruh dari problematic social media use (PSMU) terhadap social media burnout (SMB) secara signifikan pada Dewasa Awal pengguna Tiktok di Jawa Barat. This study aims to examine the role of fear of missing out (FOMO) in mediating the effect of problematic social media use (PSMU) on social media burnout (SMB) in early adult Tiktok Users in West Java. this study uses a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling techniques, namely accidental sampling. The sample in this study conducted to 505 people aged 18-25 years who used Tiktok in West Java. The measuring instruments used in this study include the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale (GPIUS-2) (α = 0.893), Fear of Missing Out Scale (FOMO Scale) (α = 0.844), and Social Media Burnout Measurement Inventory (α = 0.892). This study uses linear regression data analysis techniques and path analysis, then to test the role of mediation the Sobel Test is used. The results of this study are (1) problematic social media use (PSMU) has a significantly positive effect on social media burnout (SMB), (2) problematic social media use (PSMU) has a significantly positive effect on fear of missing out (FOMO), (3) fear of missing out (FOMO) has a significantly positive effect on social media burnout (SMB), (4) fear of missing out (FOMO) mediates the effect of problematic social media use (PSMU) on social media burnout (SMB) significantly in Early Adult Tiktok users in West Java.
