Abstract
Adolescence is a crucial phase in the individual development cycle as it leads to a healthy adulthood. High school students, aged 15-18 years, are in the transition period from childhood to adulthood, characterized by the search for identity. Generally, high school students experience confusion regarding self-acceptance and face demands from parents and the environment. In addition, they must make effective decisions to plan their future careers. This study aims to determine the career maturity profile and develop a career guidance program based on the career maturity of high school students in the Saung Sastra Community. This research uses a quantitative design with descriptive methods and a survey technique with a cross-sectional study design. A saturated sampling technique was used, involving all 43 high school students in the Saung Sastra Community. The results showed that 22 respondents (51.2%) had mature career maturity, while 21 respondents (48.8%) had fairly mature career maturity. These results indicate the need for a career guidance program to maintain and improve the mature career maturity of the students. This career guidance program is designed based on the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of Guidance and Counseling (POP BK), which have been conceptually tested by experts and practitioners.
