Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk megetahui dampak gadget terhadap perkembangan emosional anak usia dini serta untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam mengurangi dampak kecanduan anak terhadap gadget. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang orang tua di Kabupaten Purwakarta dan Kelurahan Pondok Kopi, Jakarta Timur yang secara aktif memberikan anak gadget dalam kesehariannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan gadget bagi anak usia dini menimbulkan dampak yang negatif yang dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan emosional anak. Dampak negatif tersebut tercemin dari sikap anak yang berubah setelah anak diberikan gadget yaitu menjadi pribadi yang menyendiri, anak mudah merasa bosan dan kehilangan fokus, anak sulit untuk mengendalikan emosinya, dan kreatifitas anak akan memudar siring berjalannya waktu. Adapun alasan orang tua memberi anak gadget yaitu kesibukan orang tua, dan pengalihan sementara bagi anak. Orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam mencegah anak dari pengaruh negatif gadget. ----- The purpose of this study is to ascertain how early childhood emotional development is affected by gadgets and what role parents can play in lessening the negative effects of their children's gadget addiction. Qualitative research using a descriptive research design is the methodology employed. In order to collect data for this study, observation, interviews, and documentation were used. The Miles and Huberman model, which focuses on data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, was used to analyze the gathered data. Six parents who actively provided their kids with gadgets in their daily lives, residing in Purwakarta Regency and Pondok Kopi Subdistrict, East Jakarta, served as the research subjects. The research results show that the use of gadgets for young children has a negatif impact which can affect children's emotional development. This negatif impact is reflected in the child's attitude which changes after the child is given a gadget, namely becoming a solitary person, the child easily feels bored and loses focus, the child finds it difficult to control his emotions, and the child's creativity will fade over time. The reason why parents give their children gadgets is that the parents are busy and a temporary diversion for the child. Parents have a very important role in preventing children from the negatif influence of gadgets.
