Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan service learning bermuatan ESD terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan kesadaran lingkungan mahasiswa. Metode penelitian: quasi-experimental dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sejumlah mahasiswa semester IV yang terlibat sebagai subyek penelitian di Jurusan Tadris Biologi Angkatan 2022, kelompok eksperimen (n_1=26) orang dan kelompok kontrol (n_2=19) pada mata kuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah pembelajaran dengan menerapkan service learning bermuatan ESD pada kelompok eksperimen dan pembelajaran yang biasa digunakan dosen pada kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan angket skala likert kesadaran lingkungan (Sustainability Awareness). Hasil analisis uji rata-rata pada keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan kesadaran lingkungan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Perhitungan N-gain skor keterampilan pemecahan masalah dengan kategori sedang pada kelompok eksperimen dan kategori rendah pada kelompok kontrol. Hasil perhitungan uji rata-rata pada kesadaran lingkungan juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dengan kategori sedang dan kelompok kontrol kategori rendah. Selain itu, ditemukan penerapan service learning bermuatan ESD lebih dapat meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan (kategori tinggi terbanyak) daripada keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan service learning bermuatan ESD memberikan pengaruh terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan kesadaran lingkungan mahasiswa. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the application of service learning with ESD content on problem solving skills and environmental awareness of students. Research method: quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. A number of fourth semester students were involved as research subjects in the Department of Tadris Biology Class of 2022, the experimental group (n_1 = 26) people and the control group (n_2 = 19) in the Plant Ecology course. The treatment given is learning by applying service learning with ESD content to the experimental group and learning that is usually used by lecturers in the control group. The instruments used were a problem-solving skills test and a Likert scale questionnaire on sustainability awareness. The results of the mean test analysis on problem solving skills and environmental awareness showed a significant difference. N-gain calculation of problem solving skills score with moderate category in the experimental group and low category in the control group. The results of the average test calculation on environmental awareness also showed a significant difference between the experimental group in the medium category and the control group in the low category. In addition, it was found that the application of service learning with ESD content can improve environmental awareness (high category mostly) more than problem solving skills. This shows that the application of ESD-laden service learning has an influence on students' problem-solving skills and environmental awareness.
