Abstract
Berdasaran penelitian terdahulu ditemukan siswa penyandang cerebral palsy yang mengalami hambatan di kedua tangannya sehingga mempengaruhi aktivitas sehari�hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode weight training terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot ekstremitas atas pada anak cerebral palsy di usia remaja. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimen subjek tunggal atau single subject research (SSR). Dengan desain penelitian A-B-A. Intervensi dengan menggunaka metode weight training untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot pada ekstremitas bagian kanan dan kiri. Hasil penelitian pada ekstremitas atas bagian kanan dapat dilihat dari mean level dari setiap fase. Mean level pada fase baseline 1 (A-1) sebesar 68%, pada fase intervensi (B) sebesar 74%, dan pada fase baseline 2 (A-2) sebesar 82,5%. Dan pada ekstremitas bagian kiri dapat dilihat dari mean level dari setiap fase. Mean level pada fase baseline 1 (A-1) sebesar 85%, pada fase intervensi (B) sebesar 93%, dan pada fase baseline 2 (A-2) sebesar 98%. Subjek mengalami peningkatan pada kekuatan otot ekstremitas atas kanan dan kiri. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode weight training memberikan pengaruh dalam peningkatan kekuatan otot ekstremitas atas pada kompetensi otot tangan, otot ibu jari, otot siku, otot bahu, dan otot pergelangan tangan dan lengan bawah pada anak cerebral palsy. This study aims to determine the effect of the weight training method on increasing upper limb muscle strength in children with cerebral palsy in adolescence. Using quantitative methods of single subject experimentation or single subject research (SSR). With A-B-A research design. Intervention using the weight training method to increase muscle strength in the right and left extremities. The results of research on the right upper extremity can be seen from the mean level of each phase. The mean level in the baseline 1 phase (A-1) was 68%, in the intervention phase (B) was 74%, and in the baseline 2 phase (A-2) was 82.5%. And on the left extremity can be seen from the mean level of each phase. The mean level in the baseline 1 phase (A-1) was 85%, in the intervention phase (B) was 93%, and in the baseline 2 phase (A-2) was 98%. The subject experienced an increase in muscle strength of the right and left upper extremities. This shows that the weight training method has an influence on increasing upper limb muscle strength in the competence of hand muscles, thumbs muscles, elbow muscles, shoulder muscles, and wrist and forearm muscles in children with cerebral palsy.
