Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi semakin banyak digemari khususnya dalam penggunaan media sosial Youtube oleh orang tua milenial untuk mendapatkan informasi dan referensi dalam hal pola asuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji terkait fungsi konten vlog Kimbab Family dalam hal pola asuh orang tua milenial dan dikaji dengan teori interaksionisme simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif netnografi dengan cara menganalisis komentar pada konten vlog Kimbab Family yang telah dipilih dan melakukan wawancara virtual kepada orang tua milenial penggemar konten vlog Kimbab Family yang berdomisili di Kota Bandung, Kota Bandung dipilih karena merupakan salah satu populasi milenial dengan pengguna media sosial terbanyak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bentuk pola asuh yang ditunjukkan dalam konten yang dapat dilihat melalui kebiasaan yang diterapkan dari interaksi dengan nilai-nilai, norma-norma yang ditampilkan sehingga dapat terlihat bahwa bentuk pola asuh Kimbab Family yaitu pola asuh authoritative (otoritatif), kemudian penerapan bentuk pola asuh yang diambil dari konten vlog tersebut dapat diterapkan dengan penyesuaian nilai dalam lingkungan masyarakatnya dan konsistensi antara orang tua dan anak untuk menggapai keberhasilan penerapannya. Nilai-nilai dari interaksionisme simbolik dalam konteks pikiran (mind) dapat dilihat terkait bagaimana orang tua milenial bisa tertarik dan memilih konten vlog, konteks diri (self) dapat dilihat sebagai inspirasi dan motivasi dalam hal pola asuh, dan konteks masyarakat (society) melihat bagaimana peran orang tua dalam konten vlog tersebut terlihat dan bagaimana identitas yang dapat di representasikan sebagai orang tua milenial.

The use of information technology is increasingly popular, especially in the use of Youtube social media by millennial parents to get information and references in terms of parenting. This study aims to examine the function of Kimbab Family vlog content in terms of millennial parenting style and is studied with the theory of symbolic interactionism. One of the popular family daily vlog content is Kimbab Family vlog content. This study uses qualitative netnography method by analyzing comments on selected Kimbab Family vlog content and conducting virtual interviews with millennial parents of Kimbab Family vlog content fans who live in Bandung City, Bandung City was chosen because it is one of the millennial populations with the most social media users. The result of this study show that the form of parenting shown in the content can be seen through the habits applied with the values, norms displayed so that it can be seen that the form of Kimbab Family parenting is authoritative parenting, then the application of the form of parenting taken from the vlog content can be applied by adjusting values in the community environment and consistency between parents and children to reach successful implementation. The Values of Interactionism Symbolic in the context of the mind can be seen related to how millennial parents can be interested and choose vlog content, the context of self can be seen as inspiration and motivation in terms of parenting, and the context of society sees how the role of parents in the vlog content looks and how identity can be represented as millennial parents.
