Abstract
Strawberry generation merupakan istilah yang diberikan kepada generasi Z karena dinilai memiliki gagasan kreatif, namun mudah kecewa dan hancur seperti buah stroberi. Kelahiran strawberry generation dapat dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh orang tua dalam mendidik dan membesarkan anak. Pola asuh otoriter yang cenderung memberikan kontrol berlebihan dapat membuat anak menjadi mudah mengalami depresi. Sedangkan pola asuh permisif yang cenderung memberikan kehidupan sejahtera dapat membuat anak menjadi kurang mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola asuh mana yang paling berdampak dalam membentuk anak tumbuh menjadi strawberry generation, sehingga dapat ditemukan solusi yang menjawab kebingungan orang tua untuk menerapkan pola asuh yang tepat kepada anak-anaknya. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mixed method dengan strategi sekuensial eksploratori, dimana data diperoleh melalui wawancara dan kuesioner dengan responden generasi Z dan orang tua mereka yang menerapkan pola asuh otoriter dan permisif. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pola asuh otoriter dan pola asuh permisif memiliki potensi terhadap pembentukan karakteristik anak menjadi strawberry generation. Hal tersebut nampak dari karakteristik anak yang kurang memiliki ketahanan terhadap tekanan, mudah stres, mudah menyerah, tidak percaya diri, ketergantungan terhadap hal-hal instan dan bantuan orang lain. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil pengujian kuantitatif diperoleh jika nilai korelasi pola asuh otoriter lebih besar dibanding pola asuh permisif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan melalui uji hipotesis jika pola asuh otoriter lebih berpengaruh terhadap timbulnya strawberry generation dibanding pola asuh permisif. Strawberry generation is a term given to generation Z because it is considered to have creative ideas, but is easily disappointed and destroyed like strawberries. The birth of the strawberry generation can be influenced by the parenting style of parents in educating and raising children. Authoritarian parenting that tends to provide excessive control can make children easily depressed. Meanwhile, permissive parenting that tends to provide a prosperous life can make children less independent. This study aims to find out which parenting style has the most impact in shaping children to grow into the strawberry generation, so that a solution can be found that answers parents' confusion to apply the right parenting style to their children. The research approach used in this study is a mixed method with an exploratory sequential strategy, where data is obtained through interviews and questionnaires with Generation Z respondents and their parents who apply authoritarian and permissive parenting. Based on the results of the interview, it can be concluded that the application of authoritarian parenting and permissive parenting has the potential to form the characteristics of children into the strawberry generation. This can be seen from the characteristics of children who lack resistance to pressure, easily stressed, give up easily, lack of confidence, dependence on instant things and the help of others. In addition, based on the results of quantitative testing, it was obtained that the correlation value of authoritarian parenting was greater than that of permissive parenting. So it can be concluded through a hypothesis test if authoritarian parenting has more influence on the emergence of strawberry generation than permissive parenting.
