Abstract

Di era modern ini, perkembangan komunitas tidak hanya terjadi di dunia nyata, tetapi juga di dunia maya. Kebutuhan manusia yang dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan media digital semakin mendorong terbentuknya berbagai komunitas online. Komunitas adalah kumpulan individu yang berbagi dan mendukung satu sama lain. Interaksi dalam komunitas dapat mempengaruhi identitas sosial anggotanya, yang merupakan pandangan diri individu melalui hubungannya dengan kelompok sosial tertentu. Penelitian ini berfokus pada Rubi Community, sebuah beauty community yang didirikan oleh Avoskin pada 5 Agustus 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami hubungan antara sense of community dan identitas sosial anggota Rubi Community batch 5. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan mix method dengan metode eksplanatori sekuensial. Dari hasil pengambilan keputusan uji hipotesis diperoleh bahwa H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan sense of community dan identitas sosial pada anggota Rubi Community batch 5. Data kualitatif yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, ditemukan faktor pembentuk sense of community yang cukup kompleks mulai dari aspek membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, dan shered of emotional connection. Serta faktor pembentuk identitas sosial yaitu mulai dari aspek social categorization, social identification, serta social comparison. : In this modern era, community development occurs not only in the real world, but also in the virtual world. Human needs influenced by the use of digital media are increasingly encouraging the formation of various online communities. A community is a collection of individuals who share and support each other. Interactions in a community can influence the social identity of its members, which is an individual's self-view through their relationship with a particular social group. This research focuses on Rubi Community, a beauty community founded by Avoskin on August 5 2017. This research aims to understand the relationship between sense of community and social identity of members of Rubi Community batch 5. The research approach uses a mix method with a sequential explanatory method. From the results of the hypothesis test decision making, it was found that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between sense of community and social identity in members of Rubi Community batch 5. Qualitative data obtained through interviews, found quite complex factors forming a sense of community starting from from the aspects of membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, and shared emotional connection. As well as factors forming social identity, namely starting from the aspects of social categorization, social identification, and social comparison.
