Abstract
Pengembangan karakter sosial anak memerlukan proses yang konsisten dan berkelanjutan. Orang tua memiliki tanggung jawab dalam mengembangkan karakter sosial anak, yang mana ayah dan ibu memiliki peran yang sama. Tetapi, yang menarik dalam penelitian ini yakni di Dusun Pekopen umumnya hanya ibu yang berperan dalam mengembangkan karakter sosial anak. Namun, tidak semua ibu mampu meluangkan waktunya untuk mendidik anak selama sehari penuh, seperti ibu pekerja di Dusun Pekopen yang menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya untuk bekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter sosial anak, sosialisasi ibu pekerja, faktor pendukung dan penghambat ibu pekerja dalam mengembangkan karakter sosial anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi dengan informan kunci yakni anak dan ibu pekerja di Dusun Pekopen, kemudian informan pendukung yaitu masyarakat, saudara atau kerabat dari informan kunci. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak dari ibu pekerja di Dusun Pekopen menerapkan karakter sosial berupa toleransi, peduli sosial dan kerja sama. Sosialisasi ibu pekerja dalam mengembangkan karakter anak telah dilakukan sejak anak masih kecil melalui beberapa cara yakni pemberian arahan (nasihat), pembiasaan, keteladanan dan kedisiplinan. Adapun faktor pendukung ibu pekerja di Dusun Pekopen dalam mengembangkan karakter anak, diantaranya: 1) keinginan mengembangkan anak menjadi pribadi yang baik; 2) mampu memberikan peringatan kepada anak melalui telepon; 3) adanya bantuan dari anggota keluarga lain dan masyarakat. Sementara faktor penghambat diantaranya: 1) bekerja; 2) anak sulit menerima arahan; 3) penggunaan gadget oleh anak; 4) tidak selalu mampu mengawasi anak melalui telepon. Sementara kendala dalam menjadi teladan yaitu anak sulit mengikuti instruksi, masih berupaya untuk mengendalikan perasaan pribadi dan faktor kelelahan sehingga ibu kurang tegas dalam membimbing anak. The development of children's social character requires a consistent and continuous process. Parents have a responsibility in developing children's social character, where father and mother have the same role. However, what is interesting in this study is that in Dusun Pekopen, generally only mothers play a role in developing children's social characters. However, not all mothers are able to take the time to educate their children for a full day, such as working mothers in Dusun Pekopen who spend most of their time working. This study aims to identify children's social character, socialization of working mothers, supporting and inhibiting factors of working mothers in developing children's social characters. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection technique was carried out through interviews, observations and documentation studies with key informants, namely children and working mothers in Dusun Pekopen, then supporting informants, namely the community, relatives or relatives of key informants. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman analysis. The results of the study showed that children of working mothers in Dusun Pekopen applied social characteristics in the form of tolerance, social care and cooperation. The socialization of working mothers in developing children's character has been carried out since children are young through several ways, namely giving direction (advice), habituation, example and discipline. The supporting factors for working mothers in Dusun Pekopen in developing children's character include: 1) the desire to develop children to be good individuals; 2) being able to give warnings to children over the phone; 3) the existence of assistance from other family members and the community. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include: 1) work; 2) children have difficulty receiving instructions; 3) the use of gadgets by the child; 4) not always able to supervise the child over the phone. Meanwhile, the obstacle in being a role model is that children find it difficult to follow instructions, still trying to control personal feelings and fatigue factors so that mothers are less assertive in guiding children.
