Abstract

Kemampuan membaca pemahaman adalah salah satu kemampuan yang sangat penting yang mana setiap peserta didik perlu untuk memiliki kemampuan tersebut. Membaca merupakan salah satu kegiatan dalam pembelajaran yang cukup kompleks dan sukar, karenanya banyak peserta didik yang merasa kesulitan dalam memahami suatu bacaan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rendahnya minat baca dan motivasi baca peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu strategi dan media yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan strategi pembelajaran SQ3R berbantuan media komik digital; 2) adanya pengaruh strategi SQ3R berbantuan komik digital terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pre-experimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VB di SDS IT Cendekia yang berjumlah 24 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka diperoleh kesimpulan: 1) adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan strategi pembelajaran SQ3R berbantuan media komik digital; 2) adanya pengaruh strategi SQ3R berbantuan media komik digital terhadap membaca pemahaman peserta didik di kelas VB. ----- Reading comprehension skills are one of the most important skills that every learner needs to have. Reading is one of the activities in learning that is quite complex and difficult, therefore many learners find it difficult to understand a reading. This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of students in elementary schools. This is indicated by the low reading interest and motivation of students. Therefore, a strategy and media that can influence the level of reading comprehension ability of learners are needed. This research aims to find out: 1) there is an increase in reading comprehension ability in students before and after using the SQ3R learning strategy assisted by digital comic media; 2) there is an effect of the SQ3R strategy assisted by digital comics on improving students' reading comprehension ability in elementary schools. The type of research used is pre-experimental research type one group pretest-posttest. The sample in this study were grade VB students at SDS IT Cendekia totalling 24 students. Based on the results of the study, the conclusions were obtained: 1) there is an increase in reading comprehension ability in students before and after applying the SQ3R learning strategy assisted by digital comic media; 2) there is an effect of the SQ3R strategy assisted by digital comic media on reading comprehension of students in class VB.
