Abstract

Keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang Potensi daerah Kota Banjar selama ini merupakan kendala masyarakat Kota Banjar untuk membangun dan bangga akan Kotanya. Begitu pula dengan para siswa SMPN 2 Banjar. Metode alternatif yang dapat mengembangkan pemahaman siswa secara kontekstual adalah menggunakan metode Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Inquiry. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman dan peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang potensi daerah Kota Banjar pada kelas yang menggunakan metode Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Inquiry dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode ceramah di kelas 7 SMP Negeri 2 Banjar – Kota Banjar. penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dengan menggunakan Non Equivalent Control Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar adapun sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VIIB, VIIC dan VIIF yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman siswa dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t dan uji-t’. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pemahaman siswa tentang potensi daerah Kota Banjar yang signifikan antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Inquiry dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ceramah. Selain itu juga terdapat peningkatan pemahaman yang lebih baik antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Inquiry dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Pembelajaran Group Investigation dan Inquiry sangat baik digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang potensi daerah Kota Banjar. Kata kunci: metode inquiry, metode group investigation, pemahaman siswa tentang potensi daerah Kota Banjar The limitation of knowledge about potential of Banjar municipality was one of the the students of SMPN 2 Banjar problem to built of their city. The alternative method that can develop student’s comprehension were Inquiry And Group Investigation. the aims of this research were to know the different about the comprehension and the increase comprehension about potential municipality to the class which use Learning Method Of Inquiry And Group Investigation with the class which use conventional method in the 7th grade of SMPN 2 Banjar. This research was experimental quasi by using Non equivalent Control Design. The population of this research was all of the student’s of class 7th of SMPN 2 Banjar and the sampel were class 7B, 7C and 7F its taken by purposive sampling. The instrument of this research were comprehension skill test and observation sheet. The data was analyzed by using t-test and t’ test. The result of this research show that there was a significant different between student’s who get the learning through Learning Method Of Inquiry And Group Investigation with student’ who get the learning through conventional method. Beside that, there was a better comprehension between the student’s who get learning through Learning Method Of Inquiry And Group Investigation and student’s who get the learning through conventional method. So it can conclude that Learning Method Of Inquiry And Group Investigation was very good to improve student’s comprehension about potential Banjar municipality.
