Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi mahasiswa pendidikan IPS UPI dalam mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar periode 2023. Kampus Mengajar pada periode 2023 diikuti oleh mahasiswa pendidikan IPS angkatan 2020 yang merupakan mahasiswa terbanyak dalam mengikuti program tersebut dibandingkan dengan angkatan sebelumnya, Kampus Mengajar menjadi program yang banyak dipilih mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan program MBKM lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 10 informan kunci yang merupakan mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS angkatan 2020 yang telah mengikuti Kampus Mengajar periode 2023. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Miles & Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa temuan yakni diantaranya faktor pendorong mahasiswa mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar dilandasi oleh adanya tujuan untuk mendapatkan pengalaman mengajar dan pengalaman belajar diluar kelas, hal tersebut termasuk kedalam kebutuhan prestasi dan faktor tersebut merupakan faktor intrinsik yang memiliki pengaruh kuat untuk menentukan tindakan individu. Selain itu ditemukan peningkatan kompetensi sosial mahasiswa yang juga memenuhi kebutuhan sosial mahasiswa yang merupakan salah satu kebutuhan tingkat atas dan harus terpenuhi, terdapat juga perubahan pandangan mahasiswa terhadap profesi guru yang semula menganggap mudah kemudian berubah dan menyadari tugas dan kewajiban guru yang begitu kompleks. Serta adanya ketidakpuasan dengan lingkungan kerja sekolah penempatan dimana pada faktor relation superior hubungan antara mahasiswa dengan pihak sekolah tidak terjalin baik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendorong mahasiswa untuk berkontribusi aktif dalam memajukan pendidikan di Indonesia melalui program Kampus Mengajar. This study aims to determine the motivation of UPI social studies education students in participating in the Teaching Campus program for the 2023 period. The Teaching Campus in the 2023 period was attended by social studies education students in class 2020 who were the most students in participating in the program compared to the previous batch, Teaching Campus became a program that many students chose compared to other MBKM programs. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. This research consists of 10 key informants who are social studies education students in class 2020 who have participated in the Teaching Campus for the 2023 period. The data analysis technique of this study uses the Miles & Huberman theory which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study show several findings, including the driving factors of students participating in the Teaching Campus program based on the aim of gaining teaching experience and learning experience outside the classroom, this is included in the achievement needs and these factors are intrinsic factors that have a strong influence on determining individual actions. In addition, there is an increase in students' social competence which also meets the social needs of students which is one of the top-level needs and must be met, there is also a change in students' views on the teaching profession which initially considered it easy then changed and realized the duties and obligations of teachers which are so complex. As well as dissatisfaction with the work environment of the placement school where in the superior relation factor the relationship between students and the school is not well established. This research is expected to encourage students to actively contribute to advancing education in Indonesia through the Teaching Campus program.
