Abstract

Siswa yang mengoneksikan gagasan matematis membawa dampak positif terhadap pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Siswa tidak hanya unggul dalam memahami matematika secara teoritis, tetapi juga memahami kegunaan matematika dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di SDN Jerang Barat, kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa saat ini masih tergolong rendah. Sebagaimana tercermin dari penekanan pembelajaran matematika yang terbatas pada penguasaan keterampilan dasar dan jarang memberikan penekanan pada penerapan matematika dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) apakah kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah dasar yang mengikuti pembelajaran etnomatematika Sunda dengan menggunakan permainan engklek lebih unggul daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran ekspositori. 2) apakah terdapat peningkatan pada kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran etnomatematika Sunda dengan menggunakan media permainan engklek. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain quasi experimental dengan jenis nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI A dan VI B dengan teknik pengambilan sampel jenuh. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes dan LKPD. Setelah dilakukan penelitian dengan treatment yang berbeda, perbedaan rata-rata posttest menggunakan uji t yaitu, nilai signifikansi Equal variances assumed 0,029 dan Equal variances not assumed 0,030. Nilai tersebut kurang dari 0,05 yang berarti dalam kriteria pengambilan keputusan ada perbedaan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan uji N-Gain pada pretest dan posttest, kelas eksperimen 71,90 keterangan tinggi dan kelas kontrol 60,57 keterangan cukup. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran etnomatematika sunda dengan menggunakan media permainan engklek berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Students who connect mathematical ideas have a positive impact on students' understanding of mathematics learning. Students not only excel in understanding mathematics theoretically, but also understand the use of mathematics in the context of everyday life. However, based on observations at SDN West Jerang, students' mathematical connection abilities are currently still relatively low. As reflected in the emphasis on mathematics learning which is limited to mastering basic skills and rarely places emphasis on applying mathematics in the context of everyday life. This research aims to find out: 1) whether the mathematical connection abilities of elementary school students who take part in Sundanese ethnomathematics learning using the engklek game are superior to students who take part in expository learning. 2) whether there is an increase in students' mathematical connection abilities who use Sundanese ethnomathematics learning using the engklek game as media. The research approach uses an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this research were students in grades VI A and VI B using a saturated sampling technique. The research instruments used were tests and LKPD. After conducting research with different treatments, the difference in posttest averages using the t test was, the significance value of Equal variances assumed was 0.029 and Equal variances not assumed was 0.030. This value is less than 0.05, which means that in the decision making criteria there is a difference between the control class and the experimental class. Apart from that, researchers used the N-Gain test on the pretest and posttest, the experimental class had 71.90 high statements and the control class 60.57 had sufficient information. So it can be concluded that learning Sundanese ethnomathematics using the engklek game media has an effect on students' mathematical connection abilities.
