Abstract
We live in Indonesia with very diverse forms of cultural diversity, therefore an attitude of tolerance in students must be fostered so that students can appreciate the cultural diversity that exists. However, the reality on the ground shows that there are still many students who do not know the forms of cultural diversity that exist in Indonesia. This happens because in the learning process, teachers still use conventional methods which make students feel bored in learning so that the material presented by the teacher cannot be well received by students. In this research, researchers used cultural map media. The aim of this research is to find out and describe how students understand and tolerate attitudes regarding cultural diversity material using cultural map media. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The technical data analysis used in this research is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the field findings show that students' understanding of cultural diversity material using cultural maps is very good. By using cultural map media students not only know the forms of cultural diversity but can also know the names of the regions where the culture originates. Using cultural map media can also foster students' tolerance, by looking at the forms of cultural diversity that exist on a cultural map, it can make students aware of mutual respect for all the differences that exist around us.
