Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi atas dasar fakta yang didapatkan dilapangan yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran IPS disebabkan oleh kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi yang diajarkan. Hal ini terjadi karena kurangnya keterlibatan langsung siswa dalam proses pembelajaran IPS. Guru belum optimal dalam menentukan metode pembelajaran, cenderung masih menggunakan metode ceramah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka peneliti memilih metode yang dapat membantu siswa lebih aktif dan efektif dalam proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran yaitu menggunakan metode mind mapping. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Lokasi penelitian berada di SDN 1 Sumurbandung Kota Rangkasbitung. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa/i kelas V. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa (1) hasil uji hipotesis pertama diperoleh nilai signifikan (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak Ha diterima, dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi Kenampakan Alam dan Buatan di Indonesia pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas V SDN 1 Sumurbandung. (2) hasil pengujian hipotesis kedua diperoleh nilai signifikan (2-tailed) sebesar 0,025 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak Ha diterima. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode mind mapping dengan tidak menggunakan metode mind mapping pada materi Kenampakan Alam dan Buatan di Indonesia pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas V SDN 1 Sumurbandung. This research is motivated on the basis of facts obtained in the field, namely the low learning outcomes in social studies subjects caused by students' difficulties in understanding the material taught. This happens because of the lack of direct involvement of students in the learning process of social studies. Teachers have not been optimal in determining learning methods, tend to still use the lecture method. To overcome these problems, the researcher chose a method that can help students be more active and effective in the learning implementation process, namely using the mind mapping method. The research method used in this research is the Quasi Experiment method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research location was at SDN 1 Sumurbandung, Rangkasbitung City. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students. The instrument used in this study was a test in the form of multiple choice. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that (1) the results of the first hypothesis test obtained a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, then Ho is rejected Ha is accepted, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the mind mapping method on student learning outcomes on the material of Natural and Artificial Appearances in Indonesia in the fifth grade social studies subject SDN 1 Sumurbandung. (2) the results of testing the second hypothesis obtained a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.025 <0.05, so Ho is rejected Ha is accepted, it can be concluded that there are differences in the learning outcomes of students who use the mind mapping method and do not use the mind mapping method on the material of Natural and Artificial Appearances in Indonesia in the fifth grade social studies subject SDN 1 Sumurbandung.
