Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh digital game uckres my new word dengan pendekatan EMRED untuk meningkatkan pemahaman vocabulary bahasa Inggris siswa dikelas IV SD Negeri Serang 7 yang masih tergolong rendah. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu quasi experimental design dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan tes soal pilihan ganda dan kuesioner. Dari hasil penelitian, penggunaan digital game uckres my new word dengan pendekatan EMRED menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman vocabulary bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Serang 7. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan melihat kondisi dikelas eksperimen pada hasil uji hipotesis Main Whitney pada materi pelajaran kosa kata (vocabulary) pada unit 5 where is my pencil dan unit 6 the stove in the kitchen dengan hasil Asym.sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 dan taraf signifikasi 5% yang menyatakan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Media pembelajaran digital game uckres my new word terbukti layak untuk digunakan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman vocabulary bahasa Inggris dikelas IV SD Negeri Serang 7 yang dilihat dari hasil penilaian ahli media dihitung dengan matriks Gregory dengan perolehan skor sebesar 0,85 maka validitas dinyatakan “sangat tinggi” dengan kategori “Layak”. Sedangkan tindak lanjut menunjukkan rata-rata persentase dari kelima indikator pendekatan EMRED sebesar 89%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan digital game uckres my new word dengan pendekatan EMRED berpengaruh dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah dalam meningkatkan pemahaman vocabulary bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Serang 7. Kata Kunci: Digital Game Uckres My New Word, EMRED, Pemahaman Vocabulary The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using digital game uckres my new word with EMRED approach to improve students’ English vocabulary understanding in class IV SD Negeri Serang 7 which is still relatively low. The approach used is a quantitative approach, namely quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The data collection technique is using multiple choice test questions and questionnaires. From the results of the study, the use of the digital game uckres my new word with the EMRED approach showed an increase in the understanding of English vocabulary in fourth grade students of SD Negeri Serang 7. This can be proven by looking at the conditions in the experimental class on the results of hypothesisMain Whitney testing on vocabulary subject matter in unit 5 where is my pencil and unit 6 the stove in the kitchen with Asym.sig (2-tailed) results of 0.000 <0.05 and a 5% significance level which states that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The digital learning media game uckres my new word proved feasible to be used in improving the understanding of English vocabulary in class IV SD Negeri Serang 7 as seen from the results of the media expert assessment calculated by Gregory’s matrix with a score of 0.85, so the validity is declared “very high” with the category “Feasible”. While the follow-up shows the average percentage of the five indicators of the EMRED approach of 89%. So it can be concluded that the use of the digital game uckres my new word with the EMRED approach has an effect compared to lecture method in improving the understanding of English vocabulary of fourth grade students of SD Negeri Serang 7.
