Abstract

Saat ini, perkembangan teknologi smartphone yang canggih telah menarik perhatian berbagai kalangan dan mengubah pola interaksi sosial yang terjadi. Sejalan dengan itu, muncul kecenderungan seseorang lebih terfokus pada smartphone mereka ketika berkomunikasi langsung dengan orang lain. Fenomena ini dikenal sebagai phubbing. Peserta didik SMA dari generasi Z memiliki potensi besar untuk terlibat dalam phubbing karena tingkat keterampilan mereka yang sangat akrab dengan penggunaan smartphone. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan phubbing dari perspektif seseorang yang melakukan phubbing dan seseorang yang di-phub di kalangan peserta didik SMA. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk merumuskan layanan bimbingan dan konseling pribadi sebagai upaya untuk mengurangi phubbing di kalangan peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden penelitian terdiri dari peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 1632 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP) dan Generic Scale of Being Phubbed (GSBP), berupa kuesioner dan menerapkan skala Likert dengan 7 opsi jawaban. Hasil penelitian, terungkap bahwa 99,3% peserta didik terlibat dalam phubbing, dengan gambaran umumnya pada tingkat phubbing sedang. Selain itu, 98,7% peserta didik memiliki pengalaman di-phub, dengan gambaran umumnya pada tingkat being phubbed sedang. Hasil penelitian juga berdasarkan pengelompokan data demografis dan kebiasaan penggunaan smartphone. Implikasi bagi bimbingan dan konseling pribadi diberikan dalam layanan preventif dan kuratif guna mereduksi phubbing. At present, the development of advanced smartphone technology has attracted the attention of various groups and altered the patterns of social interaction. Along with this, there is a tendency for individuals to be more focused on their smartphones when communicating directly with others. This phenomenon is known as phubbing. High school students from Generation Z have great potential to engage in phubbing due to their high level of familiarity with smartphone usage. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe phubbing from the perspectives of both the phubber and the phubbed among high school students. Additionally, this research aims to formulate personal guidance and counseling services as an effort to reduce phubbing among students. The research method applied is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The research respondents consist of 11th-grade students at public high schools in Ciamis Regency for the Academic Year 2023/2024, with a sample size of 1632 students. The instruments used to collect data are the Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP) and the Generic Scale of Being Phubbed (GSBP), in the form of questionnaires applying a Likert scale with 7 response options. The research results reveal that 99.3% of students are involved in phubbing, with a general description mostly at a moderate level of phubbing. Additionally, 98.7% of students have experienced being phubbed, with a general description mostly at a moderate level of being phubbed. The research results are also based on the grouping of demographic data and smartphone usage habits. Implications for personal guidance and counseling are provided in both preventive and curative services to reduce phubbing.
