Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara komprehensif perbandingan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis (KBKM) siswa SMA ditinjau dari tingkat self-efficacy (SE) dan adversity quotient (AQ). Penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus ini terjadi di salah satu SMA Negeri di kabupaten Bogor. Pemilihan partisipan penelitian difokuskan pada siswa SMA dengan kriteria memiliki tingkat SE dan tipe AQ berbeda. Untuk menjaring siswa dengan kriteria tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan angket SE dan AQ sehingga terpilihlah tujuh dari 31 orang siswa yang menjadi partisipan penelitian. Kemudian, berdasarkan hasil tes KBKM dan wawancara terhadap partisipan terpilih, diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa: siswa dengan SE tinggi-AQ camper memiliki KBKM sedang dan telah menunjukkan KBKM pada seluruh indikatornya; siswa dengan SE tinggi-AQ peralihan camper ke climber memiliki KBKM rendah dan baru menunjukkan sedikit KBKM pada indikator mengatur strategi dan mengeveluasi penyelesaian masalah matematika; siswa dengan SE sedang-AQ climber memiliki KBKM tinggi dan menguasai semua indikatornya; siswa dengan SE sedang-AQ camper memiliki KBKM tinggi dan menunjukkan KBKM pada semua indikatornya; siswa dengan SE sedang-AQ peralihan camper ke climber memiliki KBKM sedang dan sudah menunjukkan KBKM kecuali pada indikator mengevaluasi penyelesaian masalah matematika; siswa dengan SE rendah-AQ quitter memiliki KBKM rendah dan baru menunjukkan sedikit KBKM pada indikator mengatur strategi penyelesaian masalah matematika; serta siswa dengan SE rendah-AQ peralihan camper ke climber memiliki KBKM rendah dan baru menunjukkan sedikit KBKM pada indikator mengatur strategi dan mengevaluasi penyelesaian masalah matematika. Untuk menyempurnakan temuan ini, penulis menyarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengungkap KBKM siswa dengan kategori SE dan AQ lain yang belum dibahas pada penelitian ini. This study aims to comprehensively describe the comparison of mathematical critical thinking skills (MCTS) of senior high school students according to the level of self-efficacy (SE) and adversity quotient (AQ). Qualitative research with a case study design occurred in a state senior high school in the Bogor district. The research participants focused on senior high school students with different SE levels and AQ types. Seven of the 31 students who met these requirements were chosen as research participants based on SE and AQ questionnaires. Then, based on the results of the MCTS test and interviews with selected participants, research results were obtained, which showed that: the student with high SE-AQ camper had moderate MCTS and had shown MCTS in all indicators; the student with high SE-AQ transitioning from camper to climber had low MCTS and only showed little MCTS on the indicators of organize mathematical problem-solving strategies and evaluate mathematical problem-solving; the student with moderate SE-AQ climber had high MCTS and mastered all the indicators; the student with moderate SE-AQ camper had high MCTS and showed MCTS on all indicators; the student with moderate SE-AQ transitioning from camper to climber had moderate MCTS and had shown MCTS except for the indicator evaluate mathematical problem-solving; the student with low SE-AQ quitter had low MCTS and only showed little MCTS on indicators of organize mathematical problem-solving strategies; and the student with low SE-AQ transitioning from camper to climber had low MCTS and only showed little MCTS on the indicators of organize mathematical problem-solving strategies and evaluate mathematical problem-solving. To improve these findings, we suggest that further research can reveal the MCTS of students with other SE and AQ categories that have yet to be discussed in this research.
