Abstract
Dewasa ini perpustakaan semakin berkembang, berbagai Layanan yang ada di perpustakaan pun kini tak lepas dari kecanggihan teknologi seperti layanan e-reources yang salah satu contohnya adalah institutional repository. Kualitas informasi institutional repository mengacu pada karakteristik informasi tertentu pada instutional repository yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan sumber daya dan layanan informasi oleh pengguna. Informasi yang ada pada institutional repository perguruan tinggi berupa karya ilmiah seperti Tugas Akhir, Proyek Akhir, Skripsi, Tesis, Prosiding, Abstrak, dan Artikel. Informasi pada Institutional Repository Perpustakaan Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung yakni seputar keilmuan hospitality, pariwisata dan event sehingga informasi ini menjadi pembeda dengan perguruan tinggi lainnya dan menjadi sumber kekuatan yang dimiliki oleh institutional repository ini. Mengingat informasi tersebut sangat bermanfaat bagi civitas akademika khususnya bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang menyelesaikan penelitianya. Hal ini menjadi alasan peneliti untuk mengetahui apakah informasi pada institutional repository mampu dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa tingkat akhir atau tidak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas informasi institutional repository dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan angket kuisioner. Sampel penelitian diambil berdasarkan purposive random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 80 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kualitas informasi institutional repository dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung, dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,625 termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Hal ini menujukan bahwa informasi pada institutional repository masih dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa tingkat akhir Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung. Nowadays libraries are growing, and various services in libraries are now inseparable from technological sophistication such as e-resource services, one example is the institutional repository. The quality of institutional repository information refers to the characteristics of certain information in institutional repositories that influence the use of information resources and services by users. The information contained in higher education institutional repositories is scientific works such as Final Assignments, Final Projects, Theses, Proceedings, Abstracts and Articles. The information in the Institutional Repository of the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic Library is about hospitality, tourism and events. So this information differentiates it from other universities and becomes a source of strength for this institutional repository. Considering that this information is very useful for the academic community, especially for final year students who are completing their research. This is the reason for researchers to find out whether the information in the institutional repository can be used to fulfill final-year students’ or not. This research aims to determine the relationship between the quality of institutional repository information and fulfillment of final-year students’ information needs at the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The research sample was taken based on purposive random sampling with a sample size of 80 respondents. The finding show that there is a significant positive relationship between the quality of institutional repository information and fulfillment of final-year students’ information needs at the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic, with a correlation coefficient of 0.625, which is in the strong category. This shows that the information in the institutional repository can still be used to fulfill the information needs of final-year students’ at the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic.
