Abstract
Perpustakaan merupakan sebuah lembaga yang bergerak di bidang layanan jasa informasi yang bertanggung jawab untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pemustakanya. Sebagai lembaga jasa, salah satu hal yang diperlukan ialah kepercayaan dan saling menghargai antara kedua belah pihak. Namun, pada kenyataannya, tak jarang terjadi tindakan bibliocrime atau penyalahgunaan koleksi perpustakaan yang dilakukan oleh pemustaka yang menyebabkan koleksi perpustakaan menjadi rusak. Oleh karena itu, perlu diadakan pemberian edukasi atau pendidikan pemustaka yang berfokus pada pencegahan tindakan bibliocrime untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada pemustaka anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah booklet “book care rules” sebagai upaya pencegahan tindakan bibliocrime, dimana booklet ini akan memuat informasi terkait penyalahgunaan koleksi dan cara-cara merawat koleksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah design & development dengan model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang validator ahli untuk menilai kelayakan produk, serta 12 orang pemustaka anak di Pustakalana Children’s Library. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan pemberian angket kepada pemustaka. Teknik analisis data menggunakan kriteria penilaian dengan skala likert, serta perhitungan hasil pengisian angket dengan rumus N-Gain untuk mengukur dan mengetahui tingkat pemahaman pemustaka sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pendidikan pemustaka. Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman pemustaka anak antara sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya pendidikan pemustaka, dengan nilai rata-rata survei pendahuluan 44.25 dan nilai rata-rata survei evaluasi 50.83, kemudian hasil perhitungan rata-rata N-Gain berada pada nilai 0.42 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Sehingga dapat diketahui keberhasilan dari pendidikan pemustaka menggunakan booklet “book care rules” ini berada dalam kategori sedang. Library is an institution that operates in the fields of information services which is responsible for fulfilling the information needs of its users. As a service institutions, one of the most important things is trust and mutual respect between both parties. However, in reality, bibliocrime is one of the problem that are oftenly happened. Bibliocrime is misuse of library collections by users which is lead to the damaged of the collections. Therefore, it is necessary to provide understanding to the library user, which in this case is a child users. This research aims to develop a booklet “book care rules” as an action to prevent bibliocrime acts, because this booklet contain the information related to the misuse of collections and ways to care for the collections. The research method used is design & development with ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Participants in this research were 3 expert judgement to assess the product suitability, as well as 12 Pustakalana Children’s Library users. Data collection was carried out by observation, documentation studies, and questionnaires to the users. Data analysis techniques used the assessment criteria in likert scale, as well as the N-Gain formula for calculating the results of the users level of understanding, before and after the product was given. The result of this research show that there was an increase in the users level of understanding before and after the user education, with an average pre-survey value is 44.25 and an average evaluation survey value is 50.83, and lastly the average calculation result for N-Gain formula is 0.42 which was included in the medium category. After all, it was known that the success of user education using the booklet “book care rules” is in the medium category.
