Abstract

Peduli sosial merupakan keinginan untuk memberikan pertolongan kepada orang lain yang membutuhkan. Namun saat ini maraknya masalah penyimpangan etika di masyarakat, , kurang menghargai orang lain, sikap apatis yang hanya mementingkan kepentingan pribadi tanpa peduli terhadap orang lain yang membutuhkan pertolongan terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Kondisi ini dikarenakan perubahan lingkungan sosial akibat arus globalisasi yang menganut kebebasan. Upaya dalam menghadapi masalah tersebut salah satunya dengan cara pembinaan karakter peduli sosial bagi mahasiswa,, sebab mahasiswa sebagai kelompok intelektual yang diharapkan menjadi agent of change. Salah satu kegiatan mahasiswa dalam Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka adalah magang. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pembinaan karakter peduli sosil mahasiswa melalui kegiatan magang. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena ingin mengetahui alur dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi kegiatan magang di KPAID serta pembinaan karakter peduli sosial selama kegiatan magang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di KPAID Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah ketua KPAID, kesekretariatan KPAID, dosen pembimbing dan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pembinaan karakter peduli sosial kepada mahasiswa dilakukan secara langsung dengan dihadapkan pada sebuah peristiwa yang terjadi di masyarakat yang membutuhkan pertolongan. Kegiatan magang di KPAID memberikan pengalaman nyata bagi mahasiswa sehingga terbangun karakter peduli sosialnya. Social care is the desire to provide help to others in need. However, currently, the problem of ethical deviations in society, lack of respect for others, apathy that is only concerned with personal interests without caring about others who need help continues to increase every year. This condition is due to changes in the social environment due to globalization that embraces freedom. One of the efforts in dealing with this problem is by fostering the character of social care for students, because students as an intellectual group are expected to become agents of change. One of the student activities in Merdeka Learning Campus is an internship. This study is to determine the development of students' social care character through internship activities. This research was conducted because it wanted to know the flow of planning, implementation and evaluation of internship activities at KPAID as well as fostering the character of social care during internship activities. The research was conducted at KPAID Tasikmalaya Regency. The participants of this research were the head of KPAID, the secretary of KPAID, the supervisor and students. This research uses a case study descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The findings in this study show that fostering the character of social care to students is done directly by being faced with an event that occurs in the community that needs help. Internship activities at KPAID provide real experience for students so that their social care character is built.
