Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum sampainya siswa pada target kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sehingga memerlukan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan media komik digital. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pendekatan RME berbantuan media komik digital terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada materi pengolahan data. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SDN Sindangraja Kecamatan Sumedang Utara. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan observasi kinerja guru serta observasi aktivitas siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME dan pendekatan konvensional memberikan pengaruh berturut-turut sebesar 65,61% dan 59,44% terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan RME memberikan pengaruh lebih besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dibandingkan penggunaan pendekatan konvensional. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan pengaruh pendekatan RME dan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Jika dilihat dari nilai rata-rata N-Gain yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berturut-turut yaitu sebesar 0,54 dan 0,17 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis di kelas eksperimen 0,37 lebih besar dari pada di kelas kontrol. The background of this research is that students have not yet reached the target of mathematical problem solving abilities so that it requires learning that can improve students’ mathematical problem solving abilities. One way is to apply the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by digital comic media. The purpose of this research was to describe the effect of RME approach with the assistance of digital comic media on mathematics problem solving ability in data processing materials. The research method is a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample in this study was class VI students at SDN Sindangraja, Sumedang Utara District. The research instrument used was a test instrument for mathematical problem solving abilities and observation of teacher performance and observation of student activity. Based on the results of the study, learning mathematics using the RME approach and the conventional approach gave a successive effect of 65.61% and 59.44% on increasing students’ mathematical problem solving abilities. So it can be concluded that the RME approach has a greater influence in improving students’ mathematical problem solving abilities than using conventional approaches. In addition, there are differences in the effect of the RME approach and the conventional learning approach on students’ mathematical problem solving abilities. If seen from the average value of N-Gain obtained by the experimental class and control class respectively 0.54 and 0.17, it can be concluded that the increase in mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental class was 0.37 greater than the control class.
