Abstract

Dunia di era sekarang tengah mengalami fenomena yang luar biasa yakni Corona Virus maupun yang populer disebut Covid-19. Fenomena tersebut siswa terpaksa belajar melalui pelaksanaan pola pembelajaran dalam jaringan (Daring). Permasalahan yang menyebabkan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah masih kurangnya motivasi belajar dan tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis pada mata pelajaran IPS. Tujuan penelitian ini, adalah guna mengetahui dan memahami pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran dalam jaringan (Daring). Alasan dilaksanakannnya penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari solusi terhadap kesulitan yang dialami siswa berkaitan dengan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Motode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi melalui pemakaian rancangan nonequivalent control group design. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model problem based learning. Partisipan pada riset berikut ialah siswa kelas V di SDN Cibabat 5 Kota Cimahi dengan jumlah 64 siswa yang bersumber melalui dua kelas berbeda yakni 32 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 32 siswa kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen non tes yang berupa angket discovery learning, skala motivasi dan instrument tes yang mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis. Implementasi Pembelajaran dalam jaringan (Daring) dengan menerapkan model discovery learning memakai aplikasi zoom meeting, google classroom dan whats app. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa begitu antusias selama proses pembelajaran, walaupun jaringan internet siswa yang menjadi salah satu kendala. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran model discovery learning ada dalam kualifikasi baik, kondisi motivasi belajar siswa ada dalam kualifikasi baik, kemampuan berpikir kritis juga dalam kualifikasi baik, model pembelajaran discovery learning memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan pada motivasi belajar siswa. Dibandingkan pada model problem based learning dan model pembelajaran discovery learning lebih efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning pada pembelajaran jarak jauh, meskipun secara keseluruhan hasilnya tidak jauh berbeda The world in the current era is experiencing an extraordinary phenomenon, namely the Corona Virus or what is popularly called Covid-19. The problem that led to this research was the lack of motivation to learn and the level of critical thinking skills in social studies subjects. The purpose of this study is to find out and understand the effect of the discovery learning model on learning motivation and students' critical thinking skills in online (online) learning. The reason for carrying out this research was to find solutions to the difficulties experienced by students related to learning motivation and students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was a quasiexperimental using a nonequivalent control group design. The experimental class was given learning treatment using the discovery learning model, while the control class used a problem based learning model. Participants in the following research were fifth grade students at Cibabat 5 Elementary School, Cimahi City with a total of 64 students coming from two different classes, namely 32 students from the experimental class and 32 students from the control class. Data collection was carried out through non-test instruments in the form of discovery learning questionnaires, motivational scales and test instruments that measure critical thinking skills. Implementation of online learning by implementing the discovery learning model using the zoom meeting application, google classroom and whats app. The research findings show that students are very enthusiastic during the learning process, even though the student's internet network is one of the obstacles. The results of the study show that the implementation of the discovery learning model is in good qualification, the condition of student learning motivation is in good qualification, critical thinking skills are also in good qualification, the discovery learning learning model has a positive and significant influence on student motivation. Compared to the problem based learning model and the discovery learning model, learning is more effective in improving students' critical thinking skills compared to the problem based learning model in distance learning, although the overall results are not much different.
