Abstract

Latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini karena dianggap adanya dekadensi moral atau krisis moral yang terjadi di kalangan anak remaja. Salah satu upaya untuk menangani masalah ini yaitu bisa dengan melalui pembelajaran di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan: (1) mendeskripsikan struktur cerita dalam novel Dalingding Angin Janari karya Usep Romli H.M; (2) menganalisis nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam novel Dalingding Angin Janari karya Usep Romli H.M; (3) novel Dalingding Angin Janari karya Usep Romli H.M sebagai alternatif bahan pembelajaran membaca novel di SMA. Teknik penelitian ini yaitu studi pustaka. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu struktur cerita dalam novel Dalingding Angin Janari karya Usép Romli H.M yang meliputi tema, fakta cerita (alur, tokoh, latar), dan sarana sastra (judul, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa). Novel Dalingding Angin Janari karya Usep Romli H.M mengandung 18 nilai pendidikan karakter menurut Kemendiknas yaitu religius, jujur, toleransi, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat dan komunikatif, cinta damai, rajin membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial dan tanggung jawab. Novel ini memenuhi syarat dan kriteria dalam memilih bahan ajar untuk dijadikan bahan pembelajaran membaca novel di SMA. The background for the implementation of this considered moral decadence or a moral crisis that occurred among adolescents. One effort to deal with this problem is through learning at school. Therefore, this study has the objectives: (1) to describe the structure of the story in the novel Dalingding Angin Janari by Usep Romli H.M; (2) analyzing the value of character education contained in the novel Dalingding Angin Janari by Usep Romli H.M; (3) the novel Dalingding Angin Janari by Usep Romli H.M as an alternative material for learning to read novels in high school.Technique this research is literature study. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study are the structure of the story in the novel Dalingding Angin Janari by Usép Romli H.M which includes themes, story facts (plot, characters, setting), and literary means (title, point of view, language style). The novel Dalingding Angin Janari by Usep Romli H.M contains the value of character education according to the Ministry of National Education, namely religious, honest, tolerance, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love of the motherland, respect for achievement, friendly and communicative, love peace, diligent in reading, care for the environment, care for social and responsibility according to the Ministry of National Education, and also fulfills the requirements and criteria in selecting teaching materials to be used as learning materials for reading novels in high school.
