Abstract

ABSTRAK Keterampilan Pra-Braille merupakan keterampilan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan persepsi taktual pada individu yang akan belajar membaca dan menulis braille di masa depan. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pra-braille anak-anak tuannetra usia dini masih belum optimal, juga peran serta orang tua dalam memberika latihan keterampilan pra-braille belum maksimal dikarenakan kurangnya pemahaman orang tua terkait keterampilan Pra-Braille sehingga menghambat orang tua untuk dapat memberikan latihan keterampilan pra-braille bagi anak-anaknya sejak usia dini, serta kurangnya referensi sumber bacaan/bahan ajar yang dibutuhkan orang tua sebagai panduan dalam mempersiapkan anak-anaknya memiliki keterampilan pra-braille sejak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian untuk menghasilkan program keterampilan pra-braille bagi anak tunanetra usia dini beserta panduan implementasinya bagi orang tua untuk dapat berperan aktif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pra-braille anaknya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) menggunakan model ADDIE. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dan observasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah orang tua anak dengan hambatan penglihatan usia dini. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Program Keterampilan Pra-Braille yang dibuat berdasarkan analisis kurikulum Pra-Braille Cindy & Peggy (2013) dan analisis kebutuhan orang tua terkait keterampilan Pra-Braille bagi anak tunanetra usia dini. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dapat memudahkan orang tua dalam memberikan latihan keterampilan pra-braille bagi anaknya di rumah. ABSTRACT Pre-Braille skills are skills to improve tactual awareness and perception in individuals who will learn to read and write braille in the future. The reality in the field shows that the pre-braille skills of young blind children are still not optimal, also the role of parents in providing pre-braille skills training is not optimal due to the lack of parental understanding regarding Pre-Braille skills, thus preventing parents from being able to provide training in pre-braille skills for their children from an early age, as well as the lack of reference reading sources/teaching materials that parents need as a guide in preparing their children to have pre-braille skills from an early age. The aim of the research is to produce a pre-braille skills program for young blind children along with implementation guidelines for parents to be able to play an active role in improving their children's pre-braille skills. This research is development research (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model. Data collection was carried out using interview and observation methods. The subjects of this research were parents of children with visual impairment at an early age. The result of this research is the Pre-Braille Skills Program which was created based on Cindy & Peggy's (2013) analysis of the Pre-Braille curriculum and analysis of parents' needs regarding Pre-Braille skills for young blind children. It is hoped that the results of this research will make it easier for parents to provide pre-braille skills training for their children at home.
