Abstract

Kemampuan kognitif biasanya diartikan sebagai daya nalar, proses berpikir, atau kecerdasan. Kemampuan kognitif sangat penting untuk dioptimalkan sejak usia dini karena hal itu akan berpengaruh pada kesiapan anak dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang selanjutnya. Seharusnya anak usia 5-6 tahun kemampuan kognitif anak perkembangannya sudah bisa terlihat. Akan tetapi, dari hasil pengamatan peneliti melalui penilaian guru bahwa kemampuan kognitif anak kelompok B di TK Nurul Islam masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun melalui media maze tema diri sendiri dan menjelaskan proses pembelajaran melalui media maze tema diri sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan subjek penelitian yaitu anak kelompok B TK Nurul Islam yang berjumlah 10 orang anak terdiri dari 5 perempuan dan 5 laki-laki serta 1 orang guru kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pada kemampuan kognitif anak kelompok B, Hal ini bisa dilihat dari hasil yang telah dicapai oleh anak dengan persentase pra siklus yaitu kriteria Belum Berkembang (BB) sebanyak 60% dan Mulai Berkembang (MB) sebanyak 40%. Pada siklus I sebanyak 30% anak termasuk kriteria Mulai Berkembang (MB) dan 70% anak termasuk kriteria Berkembang Sesuai Harapan (BSH). Pada siklus II sebanyak 40% anak mencapai kriteria Berkembang Sesuai Harapan (BSH) dan 60% anak mencapai kriteria Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSB). Dengan demikian, media maze dapat dijadikan pilihan oleh guru untuk dijadikan bahan media pembelajaran dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun. Cognitive abilities are usually interpreted as reasoning power, thought processes, or intelligence. Cognitive abilities are important to develop from an early age because it will affect the kidses readiness to continue their education to the high level. At the age of 5-6 years, kidses cognitive development should be visible. However, from the observations of researchers through the teacher's assessment that the cognitive development in class B kids in Nurul Islam Kindergarten are still low. The important on this schooling was to complete the increase in cognitive development of kids aged 5-6 years through self-theme maze media and to explain the learning process through self-theme maze media. The method worn in this study was CAR (Classroom Action Research) with the research subject of group B kids at Nurul Islam Kindergarten, totaling 10 children consisting of 5 girls and 5 boys and 1 class teacher. The results showed that there was an increase in the cognitive development of class B children. This can be seen from the results that have been achieved by children with pre-cycle percentages, namely 60% Undeveloped (BB) criteria and 40% Start growing (MB) criteria. In cycle I, 30% of the kids along with categori for Start growing (MB) and 70% of the kidses including the categori for growing as expected (BSH). In cycle II, 40% of the children achieved the growing as expected criteria (BSH) and 60% of the children achieved the Very Well Develped (BSB) criteria. Thus, maze media can be used as an option by teachers to be used as learning media material in an effort to advance the cognitive of kids aged 5-6 years.
