Abstract

Anak tunagrahita sedang mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan kognitifnya yang berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan bahasanya. Salah satu kesulitan yang dihadapi anak tunagrahita adalah gangguan pada bahasa ekspresif. Tujuan pada penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan metode bercerita melalui media boneka jari untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa ekspresif siswa tunagrahita sedang kelas II SLB Raharja Mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan Exploratory Mixed Methods Research Design yaitu metode penelitian kombinasi yang menggabungkan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Uji efektivitas menggunakan eksperimen Single Subject Research (SSR), dengan disain multiple baseline cross subject, yaitu penelitian yang dilakukan pada tiga orang subjek dengan target behavior yang sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode bercerita melalui penggunaan boneka jari dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa ekspresif siswa tunagrahita sedang. Intellectual disability children are experiencing obstacles in their cognitive development which affect their language development. One of the difficulties faced by intellectual disability children is a disorder in expressive language. This research aims to develop a storytelling method through finger puppet media to improve the expressive language skills of moderately intellectual disability students in grade II SLB Raharja Mandiri. This study uses the Mix Methods Research method, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The research design carried out in this study was the Exploratory Mixed Methods Research Design, which is a combination research method that combines qualitative and quantitative methods. The experimental method used in this research is Single Subject Research (SSR). Meanwhile, the type of experimental design that will be used in this second stage is the multiple baseline cross-subject type. Multiple baseline cross-subjects is a study conducted on three subjects with the same target behavior. The use of telling stories using finger puppets is believed to be able to improve expressive language skills with intellectual disability.
