Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat baca masyarakat Indonesia khususnya dikalangan pelajar yang makin memprihatinkan. Perlu adanya upaya dalam menumbuhkan minat baca siswa yang salah satunya dengan memberlakukan gerakan literasi sekolah. Gerakan literasi merupakan sarana yang dikeluarkan Pemerintah guna menunjang minat baca siswa, namun dalam pelaksanaannya belum mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal sehingga perlu terobosan baru dalam penguatan gerakan literasi. Program one day one book menjadi salah satu upaya SD Negeri Parakankawung dalam memfasilitasi siswanya menumbuhkan minat baca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui perencanaan pendidikan karakter gemar membaca melalui program pembiasaan one day one book, 2) untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter gemar membaca melalui pembiasaan one day one book, 3) untuk mengetahui evaluasi pendidikan karakter gemar membaca melalui pembiasaan program one day one book, dan 4) untuk mengetahui faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat pelaksanaan program one day one book di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perencanaan program one day one book telah sesuai dengan pedoman yang ada dalam Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2015 dan kurikulum yang telah disesuaikan dengan kemampuan siswa. Pelaksanaan program pembiasaan one day one book terbagi dalam tiga fase yaitu kegiatan awal, kegiatan inti dan kegiatan akhir. Hasil yang didapatkan selama kegiatan berlangsung cukup efektif dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa. Siswa sudah mulai terbiasa untuk membaca buku dan sudah mulai terlatih dalam membuat resensi dari buku yang dibacanya sehingga siswa mampu menamatkan 6 buku dalam satu minggu. This research is motivated by the lack of interest in reading among Indonesian people, especially among students, which is increasingly concerning. There needs to be an effort to foster students' interest in reading, one of which is by implementing the school literacy movement. The literacy movement is a tool issued by the government to support students' interest in reading, but in its implementation it has not yet obtained maximum results so that a new breakthrough is needed in strengthening the literacy movement. The one day one book program is one of the efforts of SD Negeri Parakankawung in facilitating students to grow their interest in reading. The objectives of this study are 1) to find out the planning of character education for reading through the one day one book habituation program, 2) to find out the implementation of character education for reading through habituation of one day one book, 3) to find out the evaluation of character education for reading through habituation of the one day one book program, and 4) to find out the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the one day one book program in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The instruments used were observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation studies. The results of this study show that the planning of the one day one book program is in accordance with the guidelines in Permendikbud Number 23 of 2015 and the curriculum that has been adapted to the abilities of students. The implementation of the one day one book habituation program is divided into three phases, namely initial activities, core activities and final activities. The results obtained during the activity were quite effective in fostering students' interest in reading. Students have begun to get used to reading books and have begun to be trained in making reviews of the books they read so that students are able to finish 6 books in one week.
