Abstract

Kecanduan game online membawa dampak perubahan pada sisi motivasi belajar, yang mengakibatkan terjadinya masalah akademik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kecanduan game online dengan motivasi belajar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendakatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 398 siswa SMAN 15 Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) tahapan kecanduan game online siswa secara umum berada pada kategori abuse, yang berarti siswa mulai bermain game online secara berulang kali; (2) motivasi belajar siswa secara umum berada pada kategori identified regulation, berarti siswa melakukan kegiatan belajar dikarenakan faktor eksternal seperti upah dan karir; (3) kecanduan game online berhubungan secara signifikan dengan motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian di uji menggunakan rank spearman yang menghasilkan hubungan signifikan dan negatif, yang berarti jika semakin rendah tingkat kecanduan game online, maka semakin tinggi tingkat motivasi belajarnya, begitu pula sebaliknya. Hasil memberikan rekomendasi layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk mengatasi dan mencegah permasalahan yang terjadi. : Online game addiction brings changes to the motivation side of learning, which results in academic problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between online game addiction and learning motivation. The approach used in this research is quantitative approach with correlational method. Data collection used purposive sampling technique consisting of 398 students of SMAN 15 Bandung. The results showed: (1) the stages of students' online game addiction are generally in the abuse category, which means students start playing online games repeatedly; (2) student learning motivation is generally in the identified regulation category, meaning students carry out learning activities due to external factors such as wages and career; (3) online game addiction is significantly related to learning motivation. The research results were tested using Spearman rank which produced a significant and negative relationship, which means that the lower the level of online game addiction, the higher the level of learning motivation, and vice versa.
