Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang pelaksanaan program English Credential Camp serta urgensi program English Credential Camp dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris calon guru PAUD. Metode yang digunakan yakni metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 45 orang mahasiswa semester 7 program studi PGPAUD Kampus UPI di Serang yang menjadi peserta program English Credential Camp. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, angket (kuesioner) dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program English Credential Camp memiliki urgensi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris mahasiswa dilihatdari hasil observasi peneliti serta didukung oleh data empirik hasil PTESOL dan diperkuat dengan data pendukung berupa pernyataan mahasiswa melalui hasil kuesioner. Sehingga peneliti merekomendasikan kepada pihak Kampus UPI di Serang untuk menjadikan program ini menjadi program unggulan yang terus dikembangkan secara menyeluruh dan berkelanjutan kepada mahasiswa PGPAUD agar setelah lulus dari program studi PGPAUD mahasiswa mempunyai keterampilan tambahan untuk menunjang keahlian yang sudah dimiliki serta dapat bersaing di dunia kerja. This study aims to describe the implementation of the English Credential Camp program and the urgency of the English Credential Campprogram in improving the English skills of prospective PAUD teachers. The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, with a total of 45 students in the 7th semester of the PGPAUD study program at the UPI Serang Campus participating in the English Credential Camp program. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out in stages which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results showed that the English Credential Camp program had an urgency in improving students' English skills as seen from the observations of researchers and supported by empirical data from PTESOL results and strengthened by supporting data in the form of student statements through questionnaire results. So that the researcher recommends to the UPI Serang Campus to make this program a superior program that continues to be developed thoroughly and continuously for PGPAUD students so that after graduating from PGPAUD the program students have additional skills to support the expertise they already have. and compete in the world of work..
