Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan komunikasi terapeutik yang dilakukan oleh perawat di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat pada pasien skizofrenia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui teknik komunikasi terapeutik yang diterapkan oleh perawat dan fase hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan pasien skizofrenia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah dua perawat pelaksana klinis tingkat I di masing-masing ruang rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat, sedangkan informan pendukung terdiri dari kepala ruang rawat inap, ketua komite perawat, dan dua anggota keluarga pasien. Temuan dari penelitian ini bahwa teknik komunikasi terapeutik yang diterapkan perawat dalam menangani pasien skizofrenia yaitu, mendengarkan (listening), mengajukan pertanyaan terbuka (broad opening), mengulang (restarting), klarifikasi, refleksi, memfokuskan, membagi persepsi, identifikasi tema, diam (silence), informing, dan saran. Seluruh teknik komunikasi terapeutik diterapkan oleh perawat dalam menangani pasien skizofrenia. Temuan selanjutnya yaitu, perawat menerapkan keempat tahapan meliputi pra-interaksi, orientasi, kerja, dan terminasi dalam proses komunikasi terapeutik menangani pasien skizofrenia. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi Terapeutik Perawat, Pasien Skizofrenia. ABSTRACT This research relates to therapeutic communication by nurses at Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat in schizophrenic patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the therapeutic communication techniques applied by nurses and the phases of the nurse's therapeutic communication relationship with schizophrenic patients. The research method used in this study is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. The main informants in this study were two levels I clinical nurses in each inpatient room at the Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat while the supporting informants consisted of the head of the inpatient ward, the chair of the nurse committee, and two family members of the patient. The findings of this study are that the therapeutic communication techniques applied by nurses in dealing with schizophrenic patients are listening, asking open questions (broad opening), restarting, clarifying, reflecting, focusing, sharing perceptions, identifying themes, and being silent (silence), informing, and advice. All therapeutic communication techniques are applied by nurses in dealing with schizophrenic patients. The next finding is that nurses apply the four stages including pre-interaction, orientation, work, and termination in the process of therapeutic communication dealing with schizophrenic patients.
