Abstract
ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kecemasan berbahasa asing pada calon pendidik AUD. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus.Pengambilan data menggunakan stratified sampling untuk memilih enam partisipan mahasiswa semester tujuh jurusan PGPAUD Kampus UPI di Serang yang mengikuti program PMP2K English Credential Camp. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi dokumentasi dan wawancara secara terbuka. Teknik analisis data kualitatif dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil menemukan terdapat delapan indikator yang mempengaruhi kecemasan berbahasa asing calon pendidik AUD. Indikator-indikator dikategorikan menjadi tiga faktor yaitu faktor akademis mencakup kesulitan dalam pengucapan, kesulitan memahami tata bahasa, dan minimnya kosa kata; faktor psikologis personal mencakup kurangnya rasa percaya diri, takut membuat kesalahan, ketakutan komunikasi, dan takut membandingkan diri dengan orang lain; faktor psikologis sosial meliputi takut ditertawakan, takut pandangan orang lain, dan motivasi eksternal. Dari ketigafaktor tersebut, faktor psikologis personal menjadi yang paling banyak dirasakan oleh partisipan calon pendidik AUD dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan berbahasa asing. Kata Kunci: Kecemasan; Berbahasa Asing; Calon Pendidik; PAUD ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the factors that influence foreign language anxiety in prospective early childhood educators. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection used stratified sampling to select six participants of seventh-semester students majoring in PGPAUD UPI Campus in Serang who participated in the PMP2K English Credential Camp program. Data collection techniques include documentation studies and open interviews. Qualitative data analysis techniques are carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. It is found that there are eight indicators that influence the foreign language anxiety of prospective ECE educators. The indicators are categorized into threefactors, namely academic factors include difficulty in pronunciation, difficulty understanding grammar, and lack of vocabulary; personal psychological factors include lack of self-confidence, fear of making mistakes, fear of communication, and fear of comparing oneself with others; social psychological factors include fear of being laughed, fear of other people's views, and external motivation. Of these three factors, personal psychological factors are the most widely felt by prospective educator participants in influencing foreign language skills.
