Abstract

Mata pelajaran IPS memiliki keterkaitan yang erat dengan interaksi sosial dan juga komunikasi antar individu dalam masyarakat. Fakta dilapangan menunjukan masih banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasinya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh Team Games Tournament terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS kelas IX di SMP Negeri 49 Bandung dengan pendekatan kuantitatif metode kuasi eksperimen. Peneliti menggunakan angket yang disebar kepada 90 siswa kelas IX dengan teknik stratified sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 1) hasil pengukuran keterampilan komunikasi siswa sebelum pemberian Treatment sebanyak dua kali didapatkan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0.931 > 0.05 dan Thitung -0.087 > -Ttabel -2.015 maka H0 diterima sehingga tidak terdapat perbedaan keterampilan komunikasi siswa sebelum diberikan Treatment dengan TGT dalam pembelajaran IPS. Aktivitas keterampilan komunikasi tertinggi ditunjukan oleh indikator respect, sementara aktivitas terendah ditunjukan oleh indikator audible. 2) hasil uji T menunjukan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0.001 < 0.05, dan Thitung -3.110 < -Ttabel -2.015, maka H0 ditolak sehingga terdapat perbedaan keterampilan komunikasi siswa pada pembelajaran IPS setelah diberikan Treatment dengan model TGT. Selain itu aktivitas tertinggi ditunjukan oleh indikator humble, sementara aktivitas terendah ditunjukan oleh indikator emphaty. 3) hasil uji T pengukuran pertama dan kedua menunjukan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < dari 0.05 dan Thitung pertama -7,378 dan nilai Thitung kedua sebesar -8.031 < -Ttabel -2.015 serta uji F dengan nilai sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 dan nilai Fhitung 12.608 > Ftabel 3,226, maka H0 ditolak sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan keterampilan komunikasi siswa setelah pemberian Treatment dengan Team Games Tournament dalam pembelajaran IPS. Kata Kunci: IPS, Keterampilan Komunikasi, Team Games Tournament. The subject of Social Studies (IPS) is closely related to social interaction and interpersonal communication within society. Empirical evidence indicates that many students still face difficulties in developing their communication skills. The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of Team Games Tournaments on students' communication skills in grade IX IPS classes at SMP Negeri 49 Bandung, using a quantitative quasi-experimental approach. The researcher distributed questionnaires to 90 grade IX students, employing stratified sampling techniques. The research findings revealed the following: 1) The measurements of students' communication skills taken before the Treatment were obtained twice, yielding a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.931 > 0.05 and a t-value of -0.087 > -2.015. Consequently, H0 was accepted, indicating no difference in students' communication skills before receiving Treatment with TGT in IPS learning. The highest communication skill activity was demonstrated by the "respect" indicator, while the lowest activity was observed in the "audible" indicator. 2) The t-test results showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05, and a t-value of -3.110 < -2.015, leading to the rejection of H0. This suggests a difference in students' communication skills in IPS learning after being treated with the TGT model. Furthermore, the highest activity was associated with the "humble" indicator, whereas the lowest activity was linked to the "empathy" indicator. 3) The t-test results for the first and second measurements displayed significance values (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, with t-values of -7.378 for the first measurement and -8.031 for the second measurement, both less than -2.015. In addition, the F-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, with an F-value of 12.608 > 3.226. Consequently, H0 was rejected, indicating a significant difference in students' communication skills after receiving Treatment with Team Games Tournament in IPS learning.
