Abstract

Ranca Upas adalah sebuah kawasan wisata perkemahan yang memiliki kawasan hutan lindung seluas 215 hektar, mencakup hutan primer, hutan sekunder, dan perkebunan yang di kelolah oleh PT. Perhutani Persero Bandung. Selain menjadi objek wisata, ditemukan juga salah satu spesies katak endemik pulau Jawa, yaitu Katak Terbang Jawa (Rhacophorus reinwardtii). Berdasarkan IUCN (2008), Rhacophorus reinwardtii memiliki status Near Threatened (NT) atau “Terancam Punah”. Kondisi Ranca Upas sebagai kawasan wisata perkemahan berpotensi memengaruhi lingkungan Rhacophorus reinwardtii dan berbagai makhluk hidup yang terdapat di kawasan Ranca Upas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui rasio seks Rhacophorus reinwardtii di Ranca Upas, Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Maret 2023. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES) dan pengambilan data populasi menggunakan teknik Capture-Mark-Release-Recapture (CMRR) dengan penandaan tangkapan menggunakan benang sepatu. Estimasi kelimpahan populasi Rhacophorus reinwardtii dihitung menggunakan metode Schnabel (1938). Rasio seks dihitung menggunakan rumus Effendie (1997). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa substrat dari habitat Rhacophorus reinwardtii di kawasan Ranca Upas adalah genangan air berlumpur. Data abiotik dari parameter suhu air berkisar dari 14.6–19.6oC, suhu udara dari 15.2–24.1oC, kelembaban udara dari 68–91.6%, pH dari 5.34–6.55, kekeruhan air dari 1–129 NTU, dan intensitas cahaya dari 0–12300 lux. Vegetasi yang sering ditemukan ada kegiatan dari Rhacophorus reinwardtii adalah Cyathea sp. Estimasi kelimpahan populasi Rhacophorus reinwardtii di Kawasan Ranca Upas diperkirakan adalah 92 individu dengan rasio seks jantan dan betina adalah 18 berbanding 1. Rata-rata Snout Vent Length (SVL) yang didapatkan adalah 4.9 cm. The Ranca Upas is a tourist and camping site that also encompasses a protected forest area of 215 hectares, consisting of primary and secondary forests, as well as plantations managed by PT. Perhutani Persero Bandung. In addition to being a tourist attraction, it is also home to one of the endemic frog species of Java, the Javan Flying Frog (Rhacophorus reinwardtii). Based on IUCN (2008), the Rhacophorus reinwardtii frog is categorized as Near Threatened (NT). The condition of the Ranca Upas as a tourist and camping site has the potential to impact the environment of Rhacophorus reinwardtii and various other living creatures found in the Ranca Upas Area. The purpose of this research is to determine the sex ratio of Rhacophorus reinwardtii in the Ranca Upas Area, Bandung Regency, West Java. This research was conducted in March 2023. The data collection method used in this study was the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method and population data collection using the Capture-Mark-Release-Recapture (CMRR) technique with thread marking. The population abundance estimate of Rhacophorus reinwardtii was calculated using the Schnabel method (1938). The sex ratio was calculated using the Effendie formula (1997). The research results indicate that the substrate of Rhacophorus reinwardtii's habitat in the Ranca Upas Area is muddy water puddles. The abiotic data for water temperature ranged from 14.6–19.6 °C, air temperature from 15.2–24.1 °C, air humidity from 68–91.6%, pH from 5.34–6.55, water turbidity from 1–129 NTU, and light intensity from 0–12300 lux. The vegetation often found in the activities of Rhacophorus reinwardtii is Cyathea sp. The estimated population abundance of Rhacophorus reinwardtii in the Ranca Upas is approximately 92 individuals with a male-to-female sex ratio of 18:1. The average Snout Vent Length (SVL) obtained is 4.9 cm.
