Abstract

Mempertahankan eksistensi suatu budaya lokal di kota perantauan tidaklah mudah, berdirinya suatu organisasi berlatar belakang budaya lokal di kota perantauan dapat menimbulkan penyesuaian/pertukaran kebudayaan yang ditakutkan akan menghilangkan kebudayaan asli organisasi itu sendiri. Hal ini membuat bagaimana strategi organisasi budaya lokal mempertahankan eksistensi budayanya menjadi penting. Dimana organisasi WHDI ini menjadi salah satu cara agar eksistensi budaya Bali terkhusus di kota Cimahi tidak hilang eksistensinya dan juga dapat menjaga kerukunan antar masing-masing budaya, yang dalam penelitian ini adalah budaya Bali dan budaya Sunda. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menganalisis secara mendalam mengenai strategi Organisasi Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia (WHDI) dalam mempertahankan eksistensi budaya Bali di Cimahi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif terhadap organisasi Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia (WHDI) sektor kota Cimahi dengan teori community development dan modal sosial. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan diperkuat dengan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) organisasi WHDI berdiri sebagai wadah bagi wanita Hindu untuk dapat menyalurkan minat serta bakatnya dan menjadi lebih produktif; (2) organisasi WHDI melaksanakan 12 program-program yang dapat dirasakan manfaatnya oleh anggota, masyarakat, maupun organisasi/instansi lain dan terkandung 6 ciri khas kebudayaan Bali dalam organisasi WHDI; (3) faktor pendorong dan penghambat implementasi program lebih dominan kepada faktor pendorong, dan untuk faktor penghambat nya dapat diatasi melalui faktor pendorong organisasi WHDI itu sendiri. Melalui kegiatan-kegiatan kesenian seperti menabuh/megambel, menari, dan adanya kerjasama dengan masyarakat Sunda Wiwitan ini menjadikan eksistensi kebudayaan Bali pun dapat terlihat dan tetap lestari keberadaannya walaupun berada di kota perantauan. Maintaining the existence of a local culture in an overseas city is not easy, the establishment of an organization with a local cultural background in an overseas city can lead cultural adjustments/ exchanges which are feared will eliminate the original culture of the organization itself. This makes how the strategy of local cultural organizations to maintain their cultural exictence becomes important. Where the WHDI organization is one of the ways that the existence of Balinese cultural, especially in the city of Cimahi, does not lose its existence and can also maintain harmony between each culture, which in this study is Balinese culture and Sundanese culture. The purpose of this study is to analyze in depth the strategy of the Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia (WHDI) organization in maintaining the existence of Balinese culture in Cimahi, West Java. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods for the Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia (WHDI) organization in the Cimahi city sector with the theory of community development and social capital. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews, study documentation, and strengthened by literature study. The results of the study show that (1) the WHDI organization exist as a forum for Hindu Women to be able to channel their interests and talents and become more productive; (2) the WHDI organization implements 12 programs that members, community, and other organization/ agencies can benefit from and contain 6 distinct Balinese cultural characteristics in the WHDI organization; (3) the driving factors and inhibiting factors for the implementation program are more dominant toward the driving factors, and the inhibiting factors can be overcome through the driving factors of the WHDI organization itself. Through artistic activities such as drumming, dancing, and collaboration with Sundanese Wiwitan community, the existence of Balinese culture can be seen and its existence is preserved even though it is in an overseas city
