Abstract
The widerspread reach of the internet and the popularity of social media usage create an opportunity for the rise of Online Gender Based Violence (OGBV). The majority of blind students actively utilize social media as a means of interacting, communicating, and information access. However, in their usage, they tends to pay less attention to privacy on social media. This study aims to determine the significance of the correlation between the level of knowledge of online gender-based violence and awareness of protecting privacy on social media among blind students at SLBN A Pajajaran, Bandung. This study used the correlational method. The research sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique, totaling 12 blind students. Data collected using a questionnaire with the assistance of the reader. Data analysis using Spearman's correlation coefficient. The research results indicated that the majority of the sample had a moderate level of knowledge of Gender-Based Online Violence (66.66%), being familiar with the terms, forms of OGBV, and the impact of OGBV. Regarding awareness of protecting privacy on social media, the majority of the sample had a moderate category (50%), indicating an awareness of the importance of safeguarding personal data and the risks of violating personal data on social media. The correlation coefficient between these two variables has a correlation coefficient of 0.7317. Based on the t-test results with a significance level of 5%, it was found that the calculated t-value (3.39466) > the critical t-value (2.228). Consequently, this research demonstrates a significant and positive correlation between the level of knowledge of online gender-based violence and the awareness of protecting privacy on social media among blind students. This implies that a higher level knowledge of Online Gender Based Violence leads to a greater awareness of privacy protection on social media among blind students.
