Abstract

Ekspresi merupakan suatu ungkapan yang muncul dalam menanggapi suatu peristiwa. Sebuah ungkapan ekspresi dapat berupa emosi yang terlihat di wajah maupun berupa sebuah perilaku. Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas ekspresi muncul dikarenakan siswa berinteraksi dan menanggapi suatu kejadian. Dalam hal ini kegiatan role playing bisa menjadi tempat bagi siswa untuk berekspresi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan mengenai perilaku siswa yang kurang baik terhadap keanekaragaman hayati di sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui ekspresi siswa dalam menghargai keanekaragaman hayati serta dampak penerapan metode role playing terhadap perubahan perilaku siswa dalam menghargai keanekaragaman hayati. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode narrative inquiry. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas 5 SDN Buah Gede yang berjumlah 16 orang yang terdiri dari 9 orang laki-laki dan 7 orang perempuan. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi, field note, story telling dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekspresi muncul ketika siswa melakukan kegiatan role palying berupa emosi yang tertuang di wajah. Kemudian setelah kegiatan role palying selesai dilaksanakan, ekspresi siswa juga muncul berupa perilaku dalam menghargai keanekaragaman hayati, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh perilaku mereka dalam menjaga lingkungan, seperti menyiram tanaman, membersihkan kelas, memungut sampah, dan tidak menggangu kehidupan makhluk yang lain. Dalam penerapannya metode role playing dapat memberikan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, membangun kerja sama, bertanggung jawab, dan melatih konsistensi dalam suatu kegiatan. Dampak dari penerapan metode role playing terlihat dari tumbuhnya kesadaran siswa dalam menjaga lingkungan dan menghargai keanekaragaman hayati. Expression is an expression that appears in response to an event. An expression can be an emotion seen on the face or in the form of behavior. In classroom learning activities, expression arises because students interact and respond to an event. In this case, role playing activities can be a place for students to express themselves. This research is motivated by the problem of students' poor behavior towards biodiversity at school. The purpose of this study is to determine the expression of students in appreciating biodiversity and the impact of the application of the role playing method on changes in student behavior in appreciating biodiversity. This research uses a qualitative approach with the narrative inquiry method. The subjects of this study were grade 5 students of SDN Buah Gede, totaling 16 people consisting of 9 boys and 7 girls. Data collection used in this research are interviews, observations, field notes, story telling ,and documentation. The results showed that expressions appeared when students did role playing activities in the form of emotions written on their face. Then after the role playing activity is completed, students' expressions also appear in the form of behavior appreciating biodiversity, this is shown by their behavior in protecting the environment, such as watering plants, cleaning the classroom, picking up trash, and not disturbing the lives of other creatures. In its application, the role playing method can provide a more interactive learning atmosphere, build cooperation, responsibility, and train consistency in an activity. The impact of the application of the role playing method can be seen from the growing awareness of students in protecting the environment and appreciating biodiversity.
