Abstract

With the transition from the 2013 curriculum to merdeka curriculum, educators and students are required to develop skill processes. These process skills have the same elements as the Research Skills Development Framework (RSDF) which contains 6 indicators of research skills. Research skills are considered skills that students need to have because they are able to develop other 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, improving collaboration and communication. In improving research skills, appropriate learning activities or models are needed and in accordance with the level of students' research skills. However, information regarding research skills may vary, so a measurement is needed that is able to measure students' research skills. Therefore, this research investigated 311 students from grades 10, 11 and 12 at a senior high school to obtain information about students' research skills. By using descriptive and comparative analysis, students' research skills are dominant at the specified learning level, while the highest and lowest indicators respectively are the ability to communicate and organize data. Based on class comparison, it is known that grade 12 has the most prominent research skills compared to grades 10 and 11. And there is no difference in research skills between female and male students.
