Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar munculnya permasalahan dalam kemampuan berbicara pada anak. Metode bercerita dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara anak usia dini. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di TK yang sudah menerapkan metode bercerita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran melalui penerapan metode bercerita dalam mengembangkan kemampaun berbicara anak, mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam penerapan metode bercerita untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara anak, mendeskripsikan perkembangan kemampuan berbicara anak usia 4-5 tahun pada saat penerapan pembelajaran menggunakan metode bercerita. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu studi kasus dengan analisis tematik. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 2 anak dan satu guru. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua tahap dalam menerapkan metode bercerita yaitu tahap persiapan dan tahap pelaksanaan. Dalam menerapkan metode bercerita, terdapat faktor pendukung yang harus diperhatikan seperti sumber cerita, media bercerita, topik cerita, alur cerita, durasi cerita, melakukan improvisasi, dan percaya diri. Selain itu terdapat faktor penghambat seperti pemilihan topik cerita yang tidak sesuai, media kurang menarik, kondisi anak, suasana hati anak, dan hambatan dari luar. Dengan menggunakan metode bercerita menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berbicara anak terus berkembang pada setiap pertemuan kegiatan bercerita. Penyajian cerita yang menarik minat anak untuk mendengarkan cerita dan anak dapat berpartisipasi dalam percakapan mengenai isi cerita kemudia berdampak pada perkembangan kemampuan berbicara anak. ----- This research was conducted on the basis of the emergence of problems in speaking ability in children. The storytelling method can be used to develop early childhood speaking skills. This research was carried out in kindergartens that had used the storytelling method. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process through the application of the storytelling method in developing children's speaking skills, to describe the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the application of the storytelling method to develop children's speaking skills, to describe the development of children's speaking abilities aged 4-5 years when implementing learning using storytelling method. The research design used in this study is a case study with thematic analysis. The participants in this study were 2 children and one teacher. Based on the results obtained, it shows that there are two stages in applying the storytelling method, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage. In applying the storytelling method, there are supporting factors that must be considered such as story sources, storytelling media, story topics, storylines, story duration, improvising, and self-confidence. In addition, there are inhibiting factors such as choosing inappropriate story topics, less attractive media, children's conditions, children's moods, and external obstacles. Using the storytelling method shows that children's speaking skills continue to develop at each meeting of storytelling activities. Presentation of stories that interest children to listen to stories and children can participate in conversations about the contents of the story then have an impact on the development of children's speaking skills.
