Abstract
The mathematical reasoning ability of elementary school students is still relatively low, as well as the results of PISA in 2018 which Indonesia participated in received a fairly low value of reasoning ability. Teachers and students find it difficult to teach and are taught mathematical reasoning skills. Reasoning Ability is still low because students who are not interested in learning mathematics monotonous, just accept the theory of teachers who only use the book as a learning resource. Mathematical reasoning can be taught by introducing a pattern, make decisions, calculate the proportion, it can be taught to make everyday life as learning. Researchers make yeye game ethnomathematics learning as the learning that will help to improve the intellectual activity , because in this modelling of learning component in line with the researchers will do. Non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design research that's been used as a method. These research subjects were divided into two experimental and control classes, instrument used in this study among others, about the intellectual activity, observation, interviews, questionnaires and daily journals. Researchers carried out tests on the teaching materials as well as validating questions that will be used to pretest and posttest. The average score of the previous experimental class was 38.2 and after it became 76.4. The control class given expository learning had its average score before was 36.4 and after) to 63.2. The difference in posttest scores from the experimental class and the control class, which is 13.2 and can also be seen through the results of the t test that has been carried out, namely in the Sig. Tailed 2 column of 0.000, which shows that the mathematical reasoning ability of grade IV students who apply ethnomathematics learning is better than students who receive expository learning.
