Abstract

Menghadapi perkembangan Pendidikan, ada beberapa keterampilan abad 21 yang harus dimiliki peserta didik yang disebut 4C, salah satunya yaitu kemampuan berpikir kritis (critical thinking) Berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan untuk memecahkan masalah dengan memberikan penjelasan sederhana, membangun keterampilan dasar, menyimpulkan, membuat penjelasan lanjut, mengatur strategi dan taktik. Kemampuan berpikir kritis di sekolah dasar masih tergolong rendah sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan STEM lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional dan pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Quasi Experimental dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari dua kelompok siswa yang masing-masing menerima jenis pembelajaran yang berbeda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa pada kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan dengan siswa kelas kontrol yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional dan terdapat pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan pendekatan STEM . Hasil yang didapatkan dari hasil skor N-Gain bahwa skor pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0.380 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan skor kelas kontrol sebesar 0.155. Sesuai dengan hasil analisis inferensial dengan uji regresi linear sederhana didapatkan hasil pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 22.4%. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V. ----- Facing the development of Education, there are several 21st century skills that students must have called the 4Cs, one of which is the ability to think critically (critical thinking) Critical thinking is the ability to solve problems by providing simple explanations, building basic skills, inferring, making further explanations, organizing strategies and tactics. The ability to think critically in elementary schools is still relatively low so this study aims to find out whether learning using a STEM approach is better than conventional learning and the influence of learning with a STEM approach on the critical thinking skills of grade V students. The research data was collected from two groups of students who each received a different type of learning. The results of this study showed that students in experimental classes who received learning with a STEM approach had better results in critical thinking skills compared to control class students who received conventional learning and there was an influence of critical thinking skills with a STEM approach. The results obtained from the results of the N-Gain score that the score in the experimental class of 0.380 was higher than the control class score of 0.155. In accordance with the results of inferential analysis with a simple linear regression test, the results of the influence of learning with a STEM approach on students' critical thinking skills were 22.4%. Thus, this study concludes that learning with a STEM approach affects the critical thinking skills of grade V students.
