Abstract

Sebagai salah satu ilmu yang memiliki peranan besar dalam kehidupan, pembelajaran matematika ikut serta dalam membekali siswa agar memiliki keterampilan komunikasi. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yaitu dengan memilih model pembelajaran dan media yang tepat. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model Realistik Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan media komik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran direct instruction dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RME berbantuan media komik terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SD. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain non equivalent control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 disalah satu sekolah dasar di Purwakarta dengan sampel berjumlah 22 siswa pada masing-masing kelas. Hasil analisis N-Gain score yang diperoleh menunjukan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan RME lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran direct instruction. Selanjutnya dari hasil uji regresi sederhana yang dilakukan menunjukan terdapat pengaruh model RME berbantuan media komik terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SD sebesar 45,7%. ----- As one of the sciences that has a big role in life, learning mathematics participates in equipping students to have communication skills. One of the efforts that can be made to help improve students' communication skills is to choose the right learning model and media. This study aims to determine the increase in mathematical communication of students who receive comic media-assisted RME learning models better than students who receive direct instruction learning and to determine the effect of comic media-assisted RME learning models on elementary students' mathematical communication abilities. The type of research method used is quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were grade 2 students at an elementary school in Purwakarta with a sample of 22 students in each class. The results of the posttest data analysis and the N-Gain score obtained showed that the improvement in the communication skills of students who received RME learning was better than students who received direct instruction learning. Furthermore, from the results of the simple regression test conducted, it showed that there was an influence of the RME learning model assisted by comic media on the mathematical communication abilities of elementary students by 45.7%.
