Abstract

Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya efektivitas manajemen arsip di SMK Negeri di Kabupaten Garut yang disebabkan oleh tidak sesuainya sumber daya manusia yang mengelola arsip. Masalah ini penting untuk diatasi karena apabila dibiarkan, pemenuhan informasi yang dibutuhkan sekolah akan terhambat. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten untuk solusi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui adakah pengaruh kompetensi pegawai terhadap manajemen arsip di Tata Usaha SMK Negeri Se-Kabupaten Garut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui penyebaran angket dengan ukuran sampel 32 pegawai tata usaha di SMK Negeri Se-Kabupaten Garut. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif dan teknik analisis inferensial, untuk mengetahui pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pegawai berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap manajemen arsip di Tata Usaha SMK Negeri Se-Kabupaten Garut. Kata Kunci: Kompetensi Pegawai; Manajemen Arsip The problem studied in this study is the low effectiveness of records management at State Vocational Schools in Garut Regency caused by the incompatibility of human resources managing archives. This problem is important to address because if left unchecked, the fulfillment of the information needed by schools will be hampered. Therefore, competent human resources are needed to solve this problem. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is an influence of employee competence on records management in Administration of State Vocational Schools throughout Garut Regency. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires with a sample size of 32 administrative employees at State Vocational Schools throughout Garut Regency. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis technique and inferential analysis technique, to determine direct and indirect effects. The results of the study show that employee competence has a positive and significant effect on records management in Administration of State Vocational Schools throughout Garut Regency.
