Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik; 2) pengaruh pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar, terdiri dari kelas 4 A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 4 B sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan literasi sains dan non tes berupa lembar kerja peserta didik dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital memperoleh peningkatan sebesar 0,81 (kategori tinggi) sedangkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik memperoleh peningkatan sebesar 0,42 (kategori sedang) dan terdapat pengaruh pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa sebesar 28,9%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa dibandingkan dengan pendekatan saintifik; (2) Pendekatan STEM berbantuan flipbook digital memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar. ----- This research was motivated by the low science literacy ability of grade 4 elementary school students. This study aims to find out: 1) the improvement of science literacy skills of students who use digital flipbook-assisted STEM approaches is better than students who use scientific approaches; 2) the effect of digital flipbook-assisted STEM approaches on students' science literacy skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The sample of this study was grade 4 elementary school students, consisting of grade 4 A as an experimental class and grade 4 B as a control class. The instruments in this study are in the form of science literacy ability tests and non-tests in the form of student worksheets and documentation. The results of data analysis showed that the experimental class using the digital flipbook-assisted STEM approach obtained an increase of 0.81 (high category) while the control class using a scientific approach obtained an increase of 0.42 (medium category) and there was an influence of the digital flipbook-assisted STEM approach in increasing students' science literacy skills by 28.9%. The conclusions of this study are: (1) Learning with a digital flipbook-assisted STEM approach is better at improving students' science literacy skills compared to scientific approaches; (2) The digital flipbook-assisted STEM approach has an influence on the science literacy skills of elementary school students.
