Abstract
Rendahnya hasil prestasi peserta didik dalam bidang sains dipengaruhi karena kurangnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam aspek pemahaman, penalaran dan penerapan pada konsep materi IPA. Rendahnya hasil belajar tersebut dibuktikan oleh lembaga Internasional yaitu PISA (the Program for International Student Assesment) dan TIMSS (Trend In International Mathematics and Science Study) dalam hasil penilaian tersebut negara Indonesia berada pada peringkat ke71 dari 79 negara dengan skor 397 poin. Akibat kurangnya pemahaman dan penalaran peserta didik, akan menimbulkan miskonsepsi dalam diri peserta didik seperti miskonsepsi pada konsep cahaya dan sifatnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk (1) menganalisis miskonsepsi peserta didik kelas IV SDN 1 Nagarawangi pada konsep cahaya dan sifatnya, (2) menganalisis penyebab miskonsepsi peserta didik kelas IV SDN 1 Nagarawangi pada konsep cahaya dan sifatnya, (3) menentukan solusi untuk memperbaiki miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada peserta didik mengenai materi konsep cahaya dan sifatnya.Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan wawancara diagnosis. Tes digunakan untuk menentukan partisipan sebanyak 9 orang, sedangkan pedoman wawancara diagnosis peneliti gunakan untuk menggali miskonsepsi konsep cahaya dan sifatnya. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh yaitu dari 12 butir pertanyaan wawancara, sebanyak 11 butir peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi, mengenai materi: (1) konsep cahaya, (2) cahaya merambat lurus, (3) cahaya dapat dipantulkan, (3) cahaya dapat dibiaskan, (4) cahaya dapat menembus benda bening, (5) cahaya dapat diuraikan. Upaya mengatasi miskonsepsi seperti penggunaan benda konkret untuk media pembelajaran, proses mengamati secara langsung, mengamati video, dan percobaan sederhana. Maka dari itu, agar tidak terjadi miskonsepsi lagi penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan untuk penelitian lain yang ingin mengatasi miskonsepsi pada peserta didik dengan mengembangkan berbagai macam perangkat pembelajaran menarik pada konsep cahaya dan sifatnya. The low achievement of students in the field of science is influenced by the lack of ability of students in the aspects of understanding, reasoning and application to the concept of science material. The low learning outcomes are evidenced by international institutions, namely PISA (the Program for International Student Assessment) and TIMSS (Trend In International Mathematics and Science Study) in the results of the assessment that Indonesia is ranked 71st out of 79 countries with a score of 397 points. Due to the lack of understanding and reasoning of students, it will cause misconceptions in students such as misconceptions on the concept of light and its properties. This study was conducted to (1) analyze the misconceptions of grade IV students of SDN 1 Nagarawangi on the concept of light and its properties, (2) analyze the causes of misconceptions of grade IV students of SDN 1 Nagarawangi on the concept of light and its properties, (3) determine solutions to correct misconceptions that occur in students regarding the concept of light and its properties. The method used was descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of tests and diagnostic interviews. The test was used to determine the participants as many as 9 people, while the diagnostic interview guidelines were used to explore the misconceptions of the concept of light and its properties. The results of the analysis obtained are from 12 interview questions, as many as 11 items of students experience misconceptions, regarding the material: (1) the concept of light, (2) light propagates straight, (3) light can be reflected, (3) light can be refracted, (4) light can penetrate clear objects, (5) light can be decomposed. Efforts to overcome misconceptions such as the use of concrete objects for learning media, the process of observing directly, observing videos, and simple experiments. Therefore, in order to avoid misconceptions again this research can be used as a reference for other studies that want to overcome misconceptions in students by developing various kinds of interesting learning tools on the concept of light and its properties.
