Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang diperlukan pada abad 21. Oleh karena itu, kemampuan komunikasi matematis sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa. Namun faktanya, kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut didukung oleh beberapa penelitian. Rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis disebabkan oleh disposisi matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA ditinjau dari disposisi matematis dalam menyelesaikan soal program linear. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif komparatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Negeri Kabupaten Cianjur. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin sehingga diperoleh sebanyak 161 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi: 1) Tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis; dan 2) Angket disposisi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan disposisi matematis siswa SMA tergolong rendah; 2) Ada perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA ditinjau dari disposisi matematis. Siswa yang memiliki disposisi matematis tinggi memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang memiliki disposisi matematis sedang dan rendah; dan 3) Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara indikator disposisi matematis dan indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Ada sepuluh indikator disposisi matematis yang mempunyai keeratan hubungan dengan dua indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Selain itu, terdapat satu indikator disposisi matematis yang mempunyai keeratan hubungan dengan satu indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis yaitu mau berdiskusi dengan orang lain tentang penyelesaian soal program linear. Mathematical communication ability is one of the ability required in the 21st century. Therefore, students need to have mathematical communication ability. Based on several studies, it is indicated that students' mathematical communication ability is still low. This is supported by several studies. The contributing factor for the low ability of mathematical communication is mathematical disposition. This study aims to determine differences in mathematical communication ability of high school students viewed from mathematical disposition in solving linear programming problems. This research uses a quantitative approach with a comparative descriptive method. The population in this study were all students of grade XI at one of the public high schools in Cianjur. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling technique. The sample size was determined by using the Slovin formula to obtain 161 students. The instruments used in this research include: 1) Mathematical communication ability test; and 2) Mathematical disposition questionnaire. The results show that: 1) The high school students’ mathematical communication ability and mathematical disposition can be classified as low; 2) There are differences in the students’ mathematical communication ability of high school students viewed from mathematical disposition. The students who have high mathematical disposition have better mathematical communication ability than the students who have moderate and low mathematical disposition; and 3) There is a significant relationship between indicators of mathematical disposition and indicators of students' mathematical communication ability. There are ten indicators of mathematical disposition that have a close relationship with two indicators of mathematical communication ability. In addition, there is one indicator of mathematical disposition that has a close relationship with one indicator of mathematical communication ability, namely willing to discuss with other people about solving linear programming problems.
