Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode scramble dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan braille pada peserta didik tunanetra kelas 3 SDLB di SLB Negeri A Citeureup Kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis dengan mereduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode scramble dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan braille pada peserta didik tunanetra dilaksanakan mulai dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Tahap perencanaan terdiri dari pelaksanaan asesmen, kegitatan wawancara dengan guru kelas terkait pembelajaran dan kemampuan membaca braille peserta didik dan penyusunan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan mulai dari kegiatan awal, kegiatan inti dan kegiatan akhir. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan memberikan tes dalam bentuk permainan scramble kata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik memiliki semangat yang tinggi dalam mempelajari huruf braille menggunakan metode scramble, sehingga mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca braille peserta didik. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini diharapkan guru mampu menggunakan metode yang menyenangkan, sehingga peserta didik memiliki ketertarikan yang lebih pada pembelajaran membaca braille, guru diharapkan dapat mengawasi peserta didik baik ketika pembelajaran di sekolah maupun latihan di rumah, sehingga peserta didik mampu menguasai huruf braille dengan cepat. Pihak sekolah juga diharapkan mampu menyediakan media yang lebih memudahkan peserta didik dalam menguasai huruf braille. This study aimed to determine the use of the scramble method in the beginning of learning to read braille for blind students in grade 3 SDLB at SLB Negeri A Citeureup, Cimahi City. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection techniques were interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of this study showed that the use of the scramble method in the beginning of learning to read braille for blind students was conducted from planning, implementation and evaluation stages. The planning stage consisted of conducting an assessment, conducting interviews with classroom teachers related to learning and students’ braille reading skills and preparing a lesson plan. The implementation stage contains pre-activities, main activities and post-activities. The evaluation stage is conducted by giving a test in the form of a word scramble game. The results showed that students had high enthusiasm in learning braille using the scramble method, so this method was able to improve students’ braille reading skills. The recommendations of this study were that teachers were able to use fun methods, so students have more interest in learning to read braille. In addition, teachers were expected to oversee students when they learning at school or practicing at home, so students were able to master Braille quickly. The school was also expected to provide media to facilitate students mastering Braille. Keywords: scramble method, beginning of learning to read braille, blind.
